Description of Planned Activities
This is a two-year, three tier project which aims at:
- Offering scholarships to study at UQAT with a view to retaining bilingual nurses who can cater to English-speaking patients in emergency departments, intensive care units and home health care;
- Supervising university internships in nursing in English-speaking environments across the Great North and the UQAT territory;
- Providing English skills upgrading, especially regarding medical terminology and health-related basic language, to nurses working with English-speaking clients.
