Bursary
“I want to use my training as a nurse to help people here where I was born and raised. (…) In Nursing, we learned that nursing is about treating people, not illness.
I am fully bilingual, and I know how much people appreciate having someone that can communicate in their own language, especially when they are receiving medical treatment.”

“I love the rural setting of the area and feel a strong connection with the community and the people.
All the people I have spoken to or who know that I am studying to be a nurse, have been very excited for me and encouraging.
I feel a need to come back to this community and give back something for everything that the people have given me.”

“With the help of this bursary, I wouldn’t have to look for higher paying jobs in bigger cities; I could continue to work in my own community. (…)
Given my fluency in both English and French, and the presence of English and French communities, I feel I will be well positioned to service the needs of the English speaking population and the population at large.”

“I grew up in this community and always had a dream to work at the BMP hospital…
I am hoping to work at the BMP or in any health care facility in the region and I expect to help serve the people in my community as a Licensed Practical Nurse.”
