Statistics

As of Fall 2022, the major and the minor programs have been retired. Students who have started the major or minor prior to Fall 2022, can continue with the old curriculum.

Overview of Statistics

Statistics聽is motivated聽by the need to extract information from data, to quantify uncertainty, and to make predictions about random phenomena. To do this effectively, sophisticated mathematical and probabilistic techniques and computational tools聽are needed. Core areas of expertise include Bayesian inference, biostatistics, computational statistics, high-dimensional data modeling, multivariate analysis, and survival analysis.

Programs
