In 2012, she聽completed聽her BSc degree (Honours Specialization in Physiology and Psychology) at Western University in London, Canada. Julia鈥檚 PhD research at 苹果淫院聽under the supervision of Dr. Lisa Koski investigates neurotransmitter involvement in human neurological disease using non-invasive tools. This multimodal project has involved structural and functional neuroimaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and neuropsychological assessments to understand the pathophysiology of multiple sclerosis. With the support of the Osler Travel Award, Julia will further explore research themes relevant to her PhD work聽at Oxford University聽under the supervision of Dr. Charlotte Stagg. This project will involve ultra-high field imaging and spectroscopy to investigate the pathophysiology of a severe autoimmune disorder.
