From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to 苹果淫院 students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

The Brain@苹果淫院 Prize for Neuroscience UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH

The Brain@苹果淫院 has established this award to recognize the importance of the next generation of promising young neuroscientists in advancing our understanding of the brain.听 This annually awarded prize recognizes the most outstanding neuroscience essay by an undergraduate student at 苹果淫院 on research completed by him/her on campus, or an affiliated center, as part of a credited research course.听 The format of the essay should be 1,000 words (or less) and may include one figure or schematic. The competition is open to students in applicable departments across the University. The applicant must have been registered as an undergraduate student during the academic year (2018-2019).

The winner of the Brain@苹果淫院 Prize for Neuroscience will receive $500.听 A second prize of $200 and a third prize of $100 will also be rewarded. All winning essays will be published in Brain@苹果淫院 Online.

The entrant must submit the following items:

  1. An essay, written by the entrant, which describes his or her undergraduate research project and places it in perspective with respect to current research in the field of neurobiology. The essay must not exceed 1,000 words in length. The applicant must have done all of the work in the current academic year (2018-2019).
  2. A copy of the final paper that the entrant submitted for the research course, as part of the research course requirements;
  3. A one-page letter of recommendation from his or her project course supervisor.

HOW TO APPLY

听

Applicants should send the following by June 1, 2019 by email to Jennifer Day (brain.med [at] mcgill.ca):

i) an electronic copy of the essay,

ii) recommendation letter from their project course supervisor, and

iii) copy of the final paper that the entrant submitted for the research course, as part of the research course requirements.
