May 1 was a day of celebration for members of the Black Students鈥� Network, who honoured approximately 50 of 苹果淫院鈥檚 newest Black graduates with a ceremony attended by faculty, alumni, and loved ones.聽Hosted by Antoine-Samuel Mauffette Alavo, Black Student Affairs Liaison, the event honored Black graduating students from all faculties and levels.

Students, professors, family members and friends gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of Black students graduating from 苹果淫院 this year at the annual Black Grad event at the Omni Hotel on April 30.
Mauffette Alavo鈥檚 mandate is to ensure that 苹果淫院鈥檚 Black students are supported and that their concerns and needs are communicated with 苹果淫院鈥檚 senior leadership in a timely and effective manner that is centred on their success and wellness.
In his keynote address at the Opening Ceremony for Black History Month on February 1, Dr. James Jones spoke eloquently about the foundational significance of slavery in the United States.
苹果淫院 is on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. We acknowledge and thank the diverse Indigenous peoples whose presence marks this territory on which peoples of the world now gather.
