From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to Æ»¹ûÒùÔº students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Rubin & So Foundation Faculty Scholar

The Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (TISED) is pleased to announce the Rubin and So Foundation Faculty Scholar Award. This Award was established through a gift to the Faculty of Engineering and is intended to support the outstanding research innovation efforts of dedicated scholars affiliated with TISED who have demonstrated research achievement and potential in the area of climate change and sustainability. The Award recipient will be given the title of ‘Rubin & So Foundation Faculty Scholar’ for the duration of the appointment.

To apply please submitÌýthe following materials as a single PDF file toÌý:

  1. A three-page (max) submission should include the following sections:
    1. Expertise and experience in the proposed research theme; (0.5 pages max);
    2. Proposal that includes (2.5 pages max, including references):
      • Introduction / background / problem statement
      • Objectives
      • Methodology
      • Interdisciplinary relevance and significance of the research
      • The potential impact of the research to the advancement of sustainability in engineering and design. Clearly identify which of these or other categories the research relates to (i) existing challenges to better define the characteristics and complexity of the challenge; (ii) solutions that are being implemented with a focus on assessing the effectiveness of policy and implementation and the need for new improvements; (iii) development of new technologies, designs, performance assessment frameworks; (iv) identification of future problems and challenges that will hinder progress towards well-recognized sustainability goals and targets.
  2. full academic CV;

Applicants must be TISED full members and tenure-track faculty member in the Faculty of Engineering, and may hold the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor.
