Program Requirements

The main objective of the Professional Development Certificate in Business Analysis is to equip professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective business analysts; to understand business problems, recognize opportunities, and recommend solutions; and to act as a liaison among business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems. Emphasis is placed on practical application of business analysis principles, tools, and methodology as outlined in the industry standard, A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge ® (BABOK ® Guide), and on the development of critical interpersonal skills, including communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, and facilitation.

This program is offered in English and must be completed within 2 years.

  • CBUS 210D1 Comprehensive Business Analysis (8 CE units)

    Overview

    Business : Fundamental principles of business analysis and tools and techniques available. Principles apply to projects of all sizes in the business world. Topics include: standards, planning and monitoring, requirements elicitation and analysis, enterprise analysis, solution assessment, competencies, finance 101 business analysis, Lean-6 Sigma approach to problem identification.

    Business : This hands-on course will focus on the building blocks of the Business Model Canvas, Business Motivation Models, and conducting rigorous feasibility studies and well-constructed business cases. Techniques for effectively introducing change will include Business Process Modeling Notation and a hybrid Use Case approach (Unified Modelling Language), from both a business and a systems perspective.
