Know your rights and responsibilities It is your responsibility to know and understand your degree and program requirements.听 Your first step is to read carefully through the information found in this checklist.听 It is also important that you familiarize yourself with the Faculty of Science's Undergraduate Handbook and 苹果淫院's , which is the definitive authority on all course, program and degree requirements at 苹果淫院. 苹果淫院 places a great deal of importance on honest work, the art of scholarship, and the fair treatment of all members of the University community.听 You must familiarize yourself with to ensure that all your dealings with 苹果淫院 faculty, staff and students are fair and respectful. |
听1) Attend events for newly admitted students!
- As you consider your offer of admission, join us on campus or at a virtual event to gather all the info you need to make your decision.听 Learn all about the experience of being a Science student at 苹果淫院, speak with current students and academic advisors and start building your 苹果淫院 community!

2) Activate your 苹果淫院 email
- All important correspondence from 苹果淫院 will be sent to your 苹果淫院 email address - you should activate your account as soon as possible once you've accepted your offer.听 Consult the for full details.

3) Calculate your advanced standing, transfer credit and/or exemptions

4) Plan your first year course selection
- Read carefully through "Your first year courses" to learn about your Foundation Program requirements, degree requirements and everything you need to plan your course selection for the coming year (this includes the Fall and Winter terms).

5) Attend virtual Pre-Registration events in early June (or consult the PowerPoint slides)
- If you were not able to join us for the Pre-Registration events, you can consult the PowerPoint slides for the information presented on degree structure, course selection and registration tips.

6) Register for your courses (on Minerva)

Visit "When to register" for registration dates.听 Note: registration opens for Fall and Winter at the same time!听
Consult our "Registration Tips" for guidance on how to register using Minerva, where to get help and how to handle common registration issues.听 Make sure you register for at least one course by August 14th (the deadline to avoid a late registration fee)!

7) Verify your registration on Minerva
- Once you have registered for your Fall and Winter courses, login to Minerva and consult your Unofficial Transcript (Minerva > Student Menu > Student Records Menu > View Your Unofficial Transcript) to ensure there are no errors.

8) Connect with your Degree advisor
- Shortly after you have registered for courses, you will be assigned a Degree advisor (your SOUSA advisor).听 Summer is a good time to meet with them, ask questions and make sure you are properly registered.听 You may also wish to speak with Program advisors at this time (consult the SOUSA website to understand the difference between Degree advisors and Program advisors).

9) Learn about Science Placement Exams (registration opens from June 14 to August 2)
- Newly admitted 苹果淫院 students may earn a course exemption from one or more basic science courses by taking a Science Placement Exam before starting classes.听 Registration for Placement Exams is open from June 14 to August 2 and the exams will take place from August 12 to 16.听 Consult the Science Placement Exams website for full details and to register.

9) August 14th - deadline to register for at least one course (to avoid late registration penalties)

10) Attend Discover 苹果淫院 and Welcome Week activities (August 19 to 23)
- Discover 苹果淫院 is your chance to learn about 苹果淫院's services, clubs, teams, organizations, and faculty associations all in one place.

11) August 28th - First day of classes for the Fall term!
- You must register for at least one course by August 14th to avoid paying a late registration fee.

12) September 10 - Add/Drop deadline
- You can continue to make changes to your course registration (without penalty) until this date.听 Review your course syllabi before the end of the add/drop period to help plan your semester and determine what is expected of you in each course. If you notice that two of your midterms are scheduled at the same time, speak to your professors right away to make necessary arrangements 鈥� do not wait until the last minute to resolve exam conflicts!
