Queer History Month

Queer History Month听celebrates and highlights the history and achievements of 2SLGBTQIA+听communities at 苹果淫院 and more broadly in Montr茅al, Qu茅bec and Canada. Through a series of screenings, panels, workshops and community events, Queer听History Month aims at raising awareness, advancing education and increasing the visibility of 2SLGBTQIA+听communities by recognizing their history and contributions, building bridges and bringing together 苹果淫院 students, staff, faculty, alumni and Montr茅al community members.

苹果淫院's Queer History Month is听organized by the Office of the Associate Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), with the collaboration of the Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies (IGSF), The 苹果淫院 JBSCE Subcommittee on Queer People, the 苹果淫院 Library, the Office for Sexual Violence Response, Support, and Education (OSVRSE), Queer 苹果淫院, the Queer Grad Club, Tea4T and the Union for Gender Empowerment (UGE) and many other 苹果淫院 and community partners.

LGBTQ+ History Month started in 1994 in Missouri, to highlight and teach LGBTQ+ History, and while it is celebrated broadly in the United States and the United Kingdom, it was听the first of its kind here in a Canadian university. Queer History Month at 苹果淫院 was founded by Meryem Benslimane, a former Equity Education Advisor.
