History

The Centre on Population Dynamics was founded by Shelley Clark, Céline Le Bourdais and Amélie Quesnel-Vallée and approved by the Æ»¹ûÒùԺ’s Board of Governors on May 1, 2012. Initially, a collaboration between three departments in two faculties (Sociology and Economics in the Faculty of Arts and Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health in the Faculty of Medicine) current members come from nine departments and four faculties at Æ»¹ûÒùÔº and five other universities across the globe. Members’ research can be broadly characterized with three overarching research themes: applied quantitative methods, life course perspective, and global scope covering developed and developing countries. The Centre focuses on five research axes:
