For the 2025-2026 academic year:
Example: A resident in Diagnostic Radiology who successfully completes their program can be admitted into Interventional Radiology, which is considered to be a second residency.
Trainees applying to any program offered outside of the CaRMS match must submit an application directly to the Faculty of Medicine where they wish to apply.听 The following calendar is in place for all trainees in Quebec applying for a second residency.
- August 2024: Applicants may submit their application to the Faculty
- November 1, 2024:听Applications deadline
- December 4, 2024: Programs must give their decisions to the PGME office by 14:00
- December 9听& 10, 2024:听Decisions finalized by the CVDFM
Specific admission calendars are set for the following programs in order to meet national common offer dates:
- Gynecological Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (GREI): Offers will be made on June 14, 2024.
- Colorectal Surgery: Offers will be made on June 5, 2024.
- Maternal Fetal Medicine: Offers will be made on October 4, 2024.
- Gynecologic Oncology: Offers will be made on October 7, 2024.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry - 2025-2026 苹果淫院 Calendar
- May听15, 2024: Applicants may begin submitting their applications to the faculties.
- August 29, 2024: Application deadline.听
- October 24, 2024, 2:00pm EST:听Offers will be issued to selected candidates.
- October 28, 2024, 12 noon EST: Response to offer letters by applicants.
Each Quebec Medical Resident who participated in the Quebec match will receive a maximum of one 鈥渙ffer鈥�. It is therefore a match and not, strictly speaking, an 鈥渙ffer鈥� of admission that the resident would be free to accept or not. By participating in the match, residents implicitly commit to the position that will be assigned to them at the end of the process. If matched in Quebec, and to complete their two years of training at the admitting faculty.
The following basic principles will apply:
- Residents can only be matched with a university that has ranked them;
- A program will only receive residents it has ranked.
The process will be designed to match candidates to the best possible position based on their rank order list and the rank order list of programs to which they have applied.

3. Medical Oncology/Adult Hematology
It is possible to complete a sixth year of training in this discipline. Both Program Directors from Medical Oncology and Hematology must email pgregistration.med [at] mcgill.ca confirming acceptance of the trainee. The number of residents that can complete this sixth year (extension of training in oncology) is determined annually by the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS).
