This听Canada-wide听study听will invite four high听schools听in each of the cities of Vancouver,听Calgary,听Montreal, and听Toronto to participate in this exploratory research project.听 Through research across schools in these four major Canadian cities,听this study听will听explore the听concerns and perspectives of students, teachers and parents with regard to violent extremism.听 The study asks: 听How do students, teachers, administrators, and parents understand violent extremism?听 In general,听do students have voice?听 Do听they听discuss topics related to violent extremism?听听Do听some听students听feel marginalized?听 Why do a few 鈥渢une out鈥� even when they are not marginalized?听Do teachers discuss topics related to violent extremism?听How do parents deal with sudden or gradual changes in their children's attitudes and behaviours?
