Monchi/Rainville labs

The laboratories of Oury Monchi (PCAN) and Pierre Rainville (LaNeP3) are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow with prior training in neuroimaging. The successful candidate will work on a project that aims to characterize pain processing in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) with and without pain using clinical, behavioural, physiological, and neuroimaging data. Velly Lab Openings

The Research Coordinator, working under the supervision of Dr. Ana Velly at the Jewish General Hospital, will be primarily responsible for coordinating and organizing studies. More specifically, main duties may include:

· Preparing logistics before the start of the study by liaising with site PIs and their study coordinators;

· Updating and keeping track of required documents (e.g. ethical review board approval, Health Canada forms, appropriate consent forms and questionnaires); Coordinating investigator meetings, correspondence and publications.

The Research Coordinator will also have the opportunity to work on ongoing projects in the lab for a minimum of 24 hours per week. The candidate will also help edit and submit manuscripts for publication in scientific journals, abstracts and posters for scientific conferences, and documents for institutional review board approval. These tasks can be conducted by remote work.

The salary will be commensurate with experience. The selected candidate is expected to commit to the position for a minimum of one year.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a highly motivated applicant with an interest in the scientific method and life sciences. The candidate is expected to have excellent organizational and time-management skills, in addition to proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are required. The applicant must also be proactive and demonstrate problem-solving abilities.

Background in science, intermediate level/working knowledge of French, and knowledge of common laboratory assays (ELISA, Luminex) would be strong assets for this position.

The Alan Edwards Clinical Pain Medicine Research Fellowship

Created with the support of The Louise and Alan Edwards Foundation of Montreal, this fully-funded position is open to physicians of multiple specialties, including Family Medicine, wishing to pursue clinical research in the field of Pain Medicine. Fellows dedicate 80% of their time to clinical research and 20% to clinical activity as clinical pain fellows.

This fellowship’s duration is for 2 years. Fellows function as part of the multidisciplinary team of the AEPMU, running 1-2 clinics/week, where they develop and implement treatment plans using medical, physical, psychological, and interventional approaches under the supervision of staff clinicians. Fellow are expected to actively participate in all educational and teaching activities of the AEPMU, including at least two formal presentations per year.

Timothy H. Wideman's Lab

Tim Wideman is seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow to join his team. The appointment is for 1 year.

The postdoctoral fellow will lead qualitative research on the topics of pain and suffering in the general population and among Veterans living with pain. This research aims to better understand the different ways people experience pain and its personal impacts.
