Solutions to sustainability challenges must consider the cultural, social, and economic aspects that are central in shaping our habits, beliefs, norms, narratives, and behaviours. Creative thinking in arts and social sciences is required to shift society towards a more sustainable path. The resulting changes will include revising existing laws, economic incentives/instruments, and public policies, as well as exploring new forms of engagement and ways of learning and doing.

This award provides seed funding to explore bold projects and novel ideas drawn specifically from humanities, arts, and social sciences research with the potential to illuminate or solve sustainability-related challenges. The ultimate result of a successful proposal will contribute positively to society鈥檚 shift towards sustainability.
