Description : This research-creation workshop explores new modes of collective creation in aesthetic practices.聽We begin by asking the following: What are the techniques of togetherness being developed by artists and critics today? How have others responded to the challenges of new forms of technology, communication, labour, social assembly and creative practice in re-imagining how we might act and live together?聽Which techniques, from the Surrealists鈥櫬燙adavre Exquis,聽to a contemporary remix culture that both promotes and restricts聽this聽idea that consumers can also be makers, to examples of the new "" and media forms understood as "social," activate the聽commons?聽How do these techniques change our ideas about art, autonomy and possibility? Through hands-on explorations of techniques from different artistic domains, we will explore collectivity in action.
