From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to 苹果淫院 students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Equity and the Media events

The two events below are part of the Equity and Media conference put on by the Equity Committees of the SSMU and PGSS.

On Friday, March 25th, 4-6pm , Thomson House Restaurant (basement) (map):

the Equity Committees of SSMU and PGSS are pleased to the kick-off event to the Equity and the Media conference.听 Exposed: The role of the media in promoting Islamophobia will feature panelists Samir Shaheen-Hussain, social justice activist and part of the No One is Illegal campaign, Dr. Shirley Steinberg, Associate Professor in Integrated Studies in Education, and Sameer Zuberi, law student, media consultant and human rights activist. The panel will be moderated by Samaa Elibyari, host of the CKUT program Caravan.

Thomson House ballroom (2nd floor):

This conference will provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to present their primary research, answer questions and engage in general discussion with their peers. Each session will be chaired by a 苹果淫院 professor or graduate student. Two panels will include the presentation of equity-related research by seven students while a third panel will discuss the impact of Maclean magazine鈥檚 鈥淭oo Asian鈥 article last fall which labeled Canadian universities as 鈥渢oo鈥 Asian.
