We all know how valuable a well-designed experience can be.聽Design techniques help us to build websites that:
- Support the needs, capabilities, and constraints of the real human beings who use them;
- Help website users feel confident that they can find accurate, trustworthy information autonomously; and
- Deliver a positive (and even meaningful) experience of your faculty, department, or unit.
What's changing?
As of today,聽you must in order to gain access to edit a WMS site.聽
Since the course is offered once a month, we understand that you may not be able to attend it before you start as site editor or manager. We ask you to take it as soon as you can, because it'll help you in your role.聽
Why?
In many ways (as an institution and as a culture) we put more emphasis making things聽蹿耻苍肠迟颈辞苍补濒听补苍诲听耻蝉补产濒别.听But design is an important tool in delivering user-focused experiences. When it's done well, it improves usability, provides sensory pleasure, and fosters a sense of connection with our audience.聽
As we move into the new WMS, we'll have more tools than ever to design experiences that are user-friendly, attractive, and meaningful. The design training in WS-102 will help you take advantage of this transition.聽
What to do next
(Designing great digital experiences) through Minerva. The course takes place online once a month. Plan to be in a calm, quiet place (like a closed office or meeting room) so you can participate fully in the learning activities.聽
If you took an older version of WS-102 (formerly called "Designing digital experiences with the 苹果淫院 brand" and offered prior to December 2023), you're exempt from the requirement. In this case, we still encourage you to sign up: the course has changed, and you might appreciate taking the new version.聽
