From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Tuesday, Oct. 8, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to 苹果淫院 students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

This seminar gives an overview of the history of the electricity supply system generally, and the research, development, and deployment trajectory of microgrids in particular. The nature of the technical changes taking place is described, and an alternative paradigm for the future power sector is envisioned.


Speaker: Chris Marnay, TISED Scholar-in-Residence,聽Retired Staff Scientist, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory - China Energy Group

Over the last 15 years, Dr. Chris Marnay鈥檚 work and research has focused on microgrids and he has become a very influential researcher in this area. Chris will bring his experience to bear, working with TISED and others on exploring the benefits of microgrids and their role in smart grid deployment and sustainable resilient communities.聽
