Histoire de l'art : The course deals primarily with European painting from the late 18th to the middle of the 19th century. Emphasis is placed on the relation of art to the political, social and intellectual transformations of the time. Major figures, such as David, Goya, Canova, Friedrich and Delacroix are considered.
