Project Title: Doctoral Thesis: Living with Sacred Lands: Negotiating Sustainable Heritage Management and Livelihoods in the Marquesas Islands
Geographic Focus: French Polynesia, Oceania
Project Description: Exploring the relationship between people,聽land and the past through ethnographic research and visits to ancestral landscapes.聽 In an applied sense, working with indigenous communities to better understand perceptions of heritage places and their management, as well as how local perceptions of the colonial and pre-colonial past influence resource management decisions in the present.
