On Monday April 8th, thousands of people flocked to 苹果淫院's downtown and MacDonald campuses, as well as Gault Nature Reserve, to witness a once-in-a-lifetime event: the total solar eclipse. A promising discovery in a rare neurodegenerative disease

Imagine being middle aged and starting to feel that you are off balance a lot and that you are having a hard time coordinating your movements. Those are among the symptoms of Spinocerebellar ataxia type 6, known as SCA6, a rare neurodegenerative disease which typically appears in adulthood and worsens over time. On a cloudy afternoon this past December, a group of 苹果淫院 students gathered in a downtown Montr茅al boardroom to give a data science presentation to Citera, a sustainability analytics company. This presentation wasn鈥檛 for an internship or any other extracurricular activity 鈥 it was part of one of 苹果淫院鈥檚 newest and most innovative courses:聽MATH 527, Statistical Data Science Practicum.

Soup & Science: 苹果淫院鈥檚 stew-pendous serving of research

Recently, 苹果淫院 undergraduate students had the opportunity to savor an enriching blend of knowledge and soup at the 37th edition of Soup & Science. This week-long event, occurring once a semester, highlights research taking place on campus. This semester鈥檚 showcase included topics across disciplines, ranging from quantum meta-photonics to optogenetic stimulation in roundworms, and students were able to learn and engage with these topics in an intimate setting.

Call for Research Participants: Paid Study in Endurance Runners

Participate in this study to investigate the acute independent effects of dietary protein supplementation on bone metabolism in healthy adults aged 18-35 years participating in high-volume endurance running.

Duration: One baseline visit followed by two trials of 2 days each (approximately 15 hours total).

Criteria: 1) Must be between the age of 18 - 35 years old 2) Running at least 40 km/week the past 6 months

Looking for adults aged 50 and above diagnosed with either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes to participate in a research study.

Participation involves one audio-recorded interview conducted via Microsoft Teams or by phone.
