The passing of Prof. Laurie Hendren

It is with great sadness that I share with members of the Faculty and entire University community news of Professor Laurie Hendren鈥檚 passing, on May 27, 2019.
As a member of the School of Computer Science, Laurie was an exceptional teacher, researcher, colleague, and above all, friend.
Laurie鈥檚 award-winning teaching brought an understanding of computer science to thousands of 苹果淫院 students over the years. Her research has enabled programmers across many disciplines to create better and faster computer programs. And her many contributions as Associate Dean (Academic) in the Faculty of Science were always directed to making the 苹果淫院 experience as positive as possible for students.
We share our sadness with Laurie鈥檚 spouse, Prof. Prakash Panangaden, and their daughter Jane.
