Academic Casuals Unionization

Following the petition filed by AGSEM on April 30, 2024, to certify the group of employees occupying a position classified as 鈥樷�橝cademic Casuals鈥欌��, the Tribunal administratif du Travail, the Quebec government body that oversees unionization, handed down a decision on August 13, 2024, confirming that several Academic Casuals positions were now unionized and represented by AGSEM. The bargaining unit is defined as follows:
鈥樷�橳ous les employ茅s au sens du Code du travail occupant un poste de correcteur (芦 grader 禄), tuteur (芦 tutor 禄), assistant de stage 茅tudiant de premier cycle (芦 undergraduate student course assistant 禄), 茅tudiant dipl么m茅 adjoint (芦 graduate student assistant 禄), 茅tudiant assistant de classe (芦 student course assistant 禄) et assistant de classe (芦course assistant 禄) affect茅 par l鈥檜niversit茅 脿 un ou 脿 des cours sp茅cifiques ainsi que ceux occupant un poste de assistant p茅dagogique gradu茅 (芦 graduate teaching fellow 禄).鈥欌��
