Managing resources sustainably: where science, public policy and industry can meet

This year's TISPP symposium will include:

• A session on addressing sustainability and carbon gases within the Canadian peat industry
• Presentations from three of the current TISPP Fellows:
  • Nancy Ross, Professor, Department of Geography, and Associate Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation, Æ»¹ûÒùÔº
  • Peter Douglas, Assistant Professor, Department of Earth and Planetary Science, Æ»¹ûÒùÔº
  • Adrian Vetta, Associate Professor, School of Computer Science and Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Æ»¹ûÒùÔº
• A panel discussion and Q&A session on the science-public policy-industry nexus
• A wine and cheese reception

The symposium is open to all members of the Æ»¹ûÒùÔº community and the general public alike. Admission is free and there is no registration required.

About the Trottier Institute for Science and Public Policy (TISPP)

The Trottier Institute for Science and Public Policy (TISPP) was founded with the generous support of Lorne Trottier. Mr. Trottier has promoted science and its use in public policy in Canada, particularly in discussions related to climate change and technology. TISPP provides research grants to Æ»¹ûÒùÔº faculty to pursue projects that utilize science in the development, or informing, of public policy. Each year TISPP organizes a public symposium that has a theme that focuses on an area where Æ»¹ûÒùÔº faculty are actively working at the science-public policy interface. The public symposium is also an opportunity for TISPP research fellows to present their research.
