Join us in celebrating the 2023 edition of Science Literacy Week!

The Office of Student Academic Services in collaboration with the Sonia Bujold Initiative and Let鈥檚 Talk Science at 苹果淫院, has put together a lovely聽free online booklet of self-paced activities about fall.听

Discover an exciting collection of聽science facts and聽activities!

Explore the fall season and discover how different mammals, birds and insects prepare themselves for the upcoming freezing winter. Lear how to safely interact with ducks, play matching games and much more. There is something for everyone to enjoy!

Led by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), 聽showcases the many ways kids and families can explore and enjoy the diversity of Canadian science. From September 18 to 24, 2023, libraries, museums, science centres, schools and not-for-profits are coming together to celebrate this year鈥檚 theme,聽Energy. They are highlighting the books, movies, podcasts and virtual and in-person events that share exciting stories of the science, discoveries and ingenuity shaping our lives. 罢丑别鈥Sonia Bujold Initiative鈥鈥痠s鈥痑n outreach initiative鈥痚stablished鈥痠n 2021鈥痓y Ms. Sonia Bujold,鈥痑 recent retiree鈥痜rom the鈥还 Department of Biology,鈥痶o鈥渞each out鈥 and鈥痓reak the isolation that students, individuals living鈥痑lone,鈥痑nd families鈥痚xperienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.鈥粘蟊疴疘nitiative鈥痮ffers engaging鈥痑nd鈥痚ducational activities鈥痮n the fascinating world of biology鈥痶hrough a series of free online self-paced activity booklets for children and adults.鈥

罢丑别听聽is a volunteer-based group of graduate and undergraduate students from a wide range of faculties at 苹果淫院. Our volunteers deliver hands-on classroom presentations, host public STEM events, mentor for and evaluate projects聽at regional science fairs, and provide STEM outreach to a range of urban and indigenous schools!
