John Grew to be invested into the Order of Canada on Friday, February 12
Professor Emeritus John Grew, former Dean of Music,聽will be invested into the Order of Canada on Friday, February 12th 2016 in a ceremony at Rideau Hall. The ceremony, which begins at 10:30am聽EST,聽will be webcast live from the Governor General of Canada's . A webcast聽link will be available on their homepage before 10:30am on Friday.
John Grew was named a Member of the Order for 鈥榖ringing new vitality to organ music in Canada as a performer and educator鈥�. He has been a leading figure in the revival of mechanical-action pipe organs such as the French classical organ housed in Redpath Hall, and he was a founder of the Early Music program at 苹果淫院. He was appointed to the Order of Canada in December 2014, along with聽alumni Jens Lindemann (BMus鈥�88)聽and Faculty Advisory Board Member Joan Ivory (BA鈥�54).
