Call for Workshop Presenters & Career Panelists 鈥 2022 Discovery Day in Health Sciences

We are recruiting volunteers to host a workshop and/or be part of a career panel session at the annual Discovery Day in Health Sciences on December 6, 2022.

Hosted by the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame (CMHF), in partnership with the 苹果淫院 Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and The Neuro, this national program aims to educate and inspire grade 9-11 students who are curious about careers in health sciences, medicine, nursing, regulated health professions, and more. Youth engagement and outreach are important to Canada鈥檚 medicine and health sciences faculties and your willingness to participate is greatly appreciated.

We welcome participation from faculty, trainees, staff, and students.

The day will consist of a keynote lecture, interactive workshops, and a career panel discussion.

WORKSHOP PRESENTER (10:00 AM 鈥 11:30 A.M. AND 12:30 鈥 2:00 P.M.)

  • Coordinate and lead an interactive and stimulating session
  • Workshops take place 10:00 鈥 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 - 2:00 p.m.
  • Presenters can sign up for either or both time slots (same presentation with two different groups of high school students)
  • Workshops can be held in the presenter鈥檚 office/laboratory or in a room at the McIntyre Medical Building (please indicate in the form if you would like us to book a room at the McIntyre)


CAREER PANELIST (2:15 鈥 3:15 P.M.)

  • The 鈥淗ealth Pros Tell All鈥 career panel discussion comprises health care academics/professionals from various fields who will each have several minutes to share with the entire audience their story of how they got to where they are today. A Q&A session will follow the discussion.


DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Friday, October 28, 2022

These events are very well received by students and are an important part of how they explore their career options. We track and share all student feedback with presenters.
