CALGARY - No topics in Canada are hotter today than new pipelines, carbon pricing, and energy development. There are legitimate policy debates to be had on all these issues, but opinions seem to be getting more polarized and often lack perspective. The Trans Mountain debate is a proof point of that.

Media are invited to join the Max Bell School of Public Policy, Canada's Ecofiscal Commission, and Calgary's聽School of Public Policy on Wednesday, June 6th, for a pan-Canadian conversation focusing on policies that provide economic development and environmental protection based on solid economics and concrete evidence. The event will feature a keynote address by David Dodge. Participants will be available for interviews upon request.

Experts include:

* Jean Charest, Partner, McCarthy Tetrault

* Stephen Cornish, CEO, David Suzuki Foundation

* Pierre-Gerlier Forest, Director and Palmer Chair, The School of Public Policy
