Young People, Well-being, and Connectedness in the Time of Distancing
My colleagues at 苹果淫院 are working on a project called:聽Young People, Well-being, and Connectedness in the Time of Distancing聽(funded by Quebec鈥檚 Minist猫re de la Sant茅 et des Services Sociaux (MSSS). They are currently recruiting youth participants (16-24 years old) from diverse communities and looking for support to spread the word!
The project聽looks at the pandemic 鈥榯hrough the eyes of youth鈥�. How are they feeling? What is their sense of urgency, agency, and coping strategies during the pandemic? What would they like parents, teachers, professors and policy-makers to know about their experiences during this unprecedented time? 聽
Youth participants are invited to create聽short cellphilms (cellphone+video)聽on how they see the issues. This will be approached in a participatory way, within small groups and to facilitate the process, two one-hour online workshops.聽
- The first workshop supports development of ideas, creating stories and the technical aspects of producing the cellphilms.聽(one-hour, online)
- The second workshop gives an opportunity to screen cellphilms and be involved in聽participatory analysis to those who are interested to learn more聽(one-hour, online)
We invite youth (16 to 24 years old) from diverse communities (including Indigenous groups, newcomers, LGBTQ+, rural, and urban youth). Participants will be compensated with an聽Amazon gift card of $25聽for each workshop.聽
A poster is attached that we hope you find useful and can be used on social media, in classrooms, and elsewhere to help spread the word to youth.聽
