Peter Grutter
Peter Grutter is a Professor in the Department of Physics in the Faculty of Science.
His research focusses on inventing and developing new tools and methods that enable the atomic scale characterization of materials. This research has applications in quantum sciences, information technology and sustainable energy systems. The research problems addressed in his group are stimulated by societal needs and address the frontiers of fundamental science underlying current engineering challenges.
A diversity of mentors have had an important influence on his professional and personal life. Obtaining a variety of perspectives on career paths is hopefully useful for the next generation enabling them to contribute to solving many of society鈥檚 problems while achieving a personal work-life balance.
