The 苹果淫院 School of Population and Global Health, 苹果淫院 Global Health Programs and Friends of CIHR are delighted to co-host the 15th annual 苹果淫院 Global Health Night and 2023 Friesen Prize Public Lecture. The theme of this year鈥檚 event is Crisis to Cure: Climate, Health, and a Sustainable Future.

Global Health Night is an annual event held by 苹果淫院 Global Health Programs (GHP) that brings together and celebrates the achievements of 苹果淫院's thriving global health community. The 2023 edition of Global Health Night will be its 15th and we are pleased to partner with the Henry G. Friesen International Prize in Health Research, established in 2005 by the .

In 2023, we are thrilled to welcome Dr. Zulfiqar Bhutta, Founding Director of the Institute for Global Health and Development and the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health at the Aga Khan University and Co-Director of the SickKids Centre for Global Child Health and Hon. Dr. Keith Martin MD, P.C., founding Executive Director of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH), as our keynote speakers.

Dr. Keith Martin's lecture is titled: Averting Disaster: How we can bend the curve on the climate-biodiversity-pollution crisis.

Dr. Zulfiqar Bhutta's lecture is titled: Climate Change and Maternal and Child Health Globally: What can and should be done.

Before the keynote lecture, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the work of 苹果淫院 students and groups involved in global health, including GHP's student award winners at the Student Poster Fair. 苹果淫院 students interested in presenting a poster about their global health project can submit a poster abstract by Sunday, October 1, 2023!

苹果淫院 is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous Peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg Nations. 苹果淫院 honours, recognizes, and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
