Applications of Technology-Enhanced Trauma Training to LMICs: A Scoping Review

Abstract

Lack of adequate trauma training is a major factor contributing to the burden of trauma-related mortality and morbidity in LMICs.

Medical education technologies present a unique opportunity to enhance the quality of trauma education in LMICs.

Trauma training courses can be adapted to LMICs by incorporating educational technologies that optimize learning outcomes, but also remain feasible to use with less resources.

This study reviews the current technologies used in trauma training courses and evaluates which are most feasible to use in LMICs, to inform the development of a future internationally-recognized paediatric trauma course that is applicable to lower-resource settings.

苹果淫院 is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous Peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg Nations. 苹果淫院 honours, recognizes, and respects these nations as the traditional stewards of the lands and waters on which peoples of the world now gather. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.
