In this workshop, students learned about how we do research and how it can lead to advances in the clinic. They visited our research laboratories and participated in hands-on activities. Throughout, they talked to our graduate student volunteers working on different types of cancers and were introduced to different careers in cancer research.
The presentation part of the workshop included an introduction to cancer and cancer research, and a description of possible听career paths. The lab tour part of the workshop included looking at cells in the tissue culture room and looking at a DNA gel in a lab.
