The 4th International Congress on Whole Person Care

Thursday, October 21, 2021toSunday, October 24, 2021

The Faculty of Education Community is invited to attend the 苹果淫院 Programs 4th International Congress on Whole Person Care. This year, the conference theme is:

Congruent Responses To A World In Crisis: Courage, Compassion, Community, and the Heart of the Healer

聽Join from anywhere in the world, from the comfort of your home for an inspirational program and impactful networking opportunities.

Today, we live in a world full of unprecedented issues and crises, a world that is constantly changing and is very unpredictable. Difficult and scary as this can be, we must be prepared to see, listen, feel, and respond to the suffering of others and ourselves with respect, love, and understanding. When fear and uncertainty is coming to us from all sides, we feel called to offer solutions rooted in compassion, courage, and community.

Featuring guest speakers from around the world, including Cindy Blackstock, from 苹果淫院's School of Social Work.

A member of the Gitksan First Nation with 25 years of social work experience in child protection and indigenous children鈥檚 rights. Dr. Blackstock鈥檚 research interests are indigenous theory and the identification & remediation of structural inequalities affecting First Nations children, youth & families.

An author of over 50 publications & a widely sought after public speaker, Dr. Blackstock has collaborated with other Indigenous leaders to assist the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child in the development and adoption of a General Comment on the Rights of Indigenous children. Recently, she also worked with Indigenous young people, UNICEF & the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues to produce a youth friendly version of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of the Child. Her promotion of culturally based & evidence informed solutions has been recognized by the Nobel Women鈥檚 Initiative, the Aboriginal Achievement Foundation, Frontline Defenders and many others.
