Virtual Dobson Day: Connecting startups and investors virtually

Last October 27 and 28, the Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship hosted the inaugural听Dobson Day in NY. In collaboration with the听, this online startup tour听aimed to introduce and connect a select group of retail focused听Dobson entrepreneurs to听the dynamic NYC ecosystem of investors.

Fourteen Dobson startups benefited from one-on-one coaching and mentoring, attended听ShopTalk听retail week where they engaged in meetings with potential clients, partners and investors, participated in听TechDay, the largest startup event in the US and finally, pitched to a hundred potential investors and industry leaders during a two-day event. A panel of retail experts were on hand to help guide the conversation during these two days, giving insights into the NYC ecosystem and the opportunities that lie beyond Canadian borders.听

Attending Founders came away from the experience with insightful feedback from industry, precious business leads听and for some, tangible investor interest. Three teams received special recognition for their strong potential and disruptive concepts:听,听 and听.听
