Dr. Ratna Ghosh听is听James 苹果淫院 Professor听and听William C. Macdonald Professor of Education听at 苹果淫院 in Montreal, Canada. She was Dean of Education from July 1998 to December 2003. She was appointed a听Member of the Order of Canada听(C.M.) in 2000,听Officer of the Order of Quebec听(O.Q.) in 2005, and was elected a听Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada听(F.R.S.C.) in 1999. She is also a听Full Member of the European Academy of Arts, Sciences and Humanities.听Her publications in books, journals and encyclopedias, her prestigious grants and teaching reflect her varied research interests, which include education and technology. She has done research in Canada, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Professor Ghosh was featured in the Canadian Edition of听Time Magazine, October 13, 2003 issue as one of "Canada's Best in Education".

In 2009 she was selected for the听Power List听published by听India Abroad.

She is the recipient of the听YWCA Woman of Distinction Award听in 1996, and has received several awards from national and international organizations. She has held important administrative positions at 苹果淫院, as听Director of Graduate Studies and Research听for the Faculty of Education, and听Acting Director听of 苹果淫院 International. She has had an important leadership role in the development and governance of the听Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute,听which is a consortium of Canadian universities involved in academic exchanges and programs between India and Canada. She served as its听Resident Director听in New Delhi, India, in 1982-83, and as听President听of the Institute from 1988-90. She has been on the Board of Directors (as well as the Education and International Committees) of the听Canadian Human Rights Foundation.听She is on the editorial board of several international journals. In 2009 she was elected as the听President听(2011-2012) of the听Comparative and International Education Society听of the U.S.
