Biography: 

Julie Ricard has over 18 years of experience in higher education, and more than 15 years of management experience in executive education and professional training, including management, project management, operations management, finance, strategy, business analytics, marketing, and more.

She holds a Ph. D. in administration from the joint doctoral program at Université du Québec à Montréal, a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University, and a bachelor's degree in commerce. Her research interests and publications are in decision making, rules and governance, performance, pro-environmental behavior, complexity, and crisis management. She is a member of several inter-university research groups, notably the international collective Groupe de recherche sur la gouvernance et la relation entreprise-politique.

She taught varied administration and management courses at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO), Saint-Paul University, Vanier College, Cégep de la Gaspésie et les Îles and Collège Boréal.

Professionally, she distinguished herself as Director of the John Molson Executive Centre at Concordia University for 9 years during which she established collaborations and partnerships with local and international enterprises and organizations. By association, she was the Director of the Aviation Management Institute (AMI) and the Professional Certification in Sustainable Investment (SIPC).

She joined the John Molson School of Business in 2004 with the mandate to restructure the marketing strategy for executive education. She joined ESG + | Executive Development Centre at UQAM in 2016 as Senior Advisor, Strategy and Development to contribute to its expansion strategy and create programs with the business community. More recently she managed value enhancement projects for sustainable real estate research at Chaire Ivanhoé Cambridge d’immobilier. In collaboration with founding and key partners such as Ivanhoé Cambridge and Boma Québec, the projects aimed at highlighting research achievements and preparing knowledge transfer activities for the Chair’s 25-year celebration. 

Before joining academia, Julie worked in market research for five years, working and overseeing national projects, such as demographic census, government research studies, and international brand studies.
