Philip S. S. Howard, 苹果淫院's Department of Integrated Studies in Education, Kevin Ah-Sen, 苹果淫院 PhD Student in Education, and Bryan Chan Yen Johnson, 苹果淫院's School of Continuing Studies, have published an article about how the Ukraine refugee crisis has exposed racism and contradictions in the definition of human in The Conversation.
"The Russian invasion of Ukraine brought to light the awful tragedies that accompany armed conflict, but the subsequent refugee crisis has also uncovered deeply seated racism in the country."

Dear Members of the 苹果淫院 community,
苹果淫院 is home to a vibrant international community, and many of us have roots in countries around the world. Global crises can affect us all.
The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has been a source of deep preoccupation to many of us. As Principal of our university, I am reminded of the need for 鈥� and the potential fragility of 鈥� stability and peace in order to pursue higher learning and the advancement of knowledge.

鈥淵ou shouldn鈥檛 even have the right to education...you鈥檙e black鈥� were the hateful words said to Iona Amico by a fellow grade one student many years ago. Born in France and raised in Quebec, Iona Amico is the daughter of a Cameroonian mom and an Italian dad who grew up biracial in a predominantly Caucasian neighbourhood. Despite having faced incidents of bigotry and feeling like she was between two worlds, she did not let these experiences jade her.
