Her troupe of trained therapeutic clowns bring comfort, compassion, and plenty of laughs to hospitalized children and seniors in care facilities.

Two members of the Fall 2024 cohort of will begin their funded Master鈥檚 studies at 苹果淫院鈥檚 Faculty of Education. Designed to encourage purposeful leadership, the scholarships enable students to pursue a funded degree while participating in mentorship, coaching, and a leadership development program.

Recipients were chosen based on exceptional character, community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic strength, and intellectual curiosity.

On Sunday, March 10, 2024, at "A Taste of Tea", Playmas Montreal Cultural Association recognized Sabi Kamilah Hinkson 鈥渁s a woman of merit鈥 and awarded her a certificate 鈥渢o honour her excelling contribution in the field of education and her role as a Black Woman of Excellence contributing to the advancement of Montreal鈥檚 Caribbean and wider communities.鈥

Sabi is a PhD student in DISE.

How 苹果淫院鈥檚 Leaders #InspireInclusion

Friday, March 8 is International Women鈥檚 Day, marking the achievements of women and serving as a call to action for accelerating women鈥檚 equality.

This year鈥檚 theme is Inspire Inclusion 鈥 a message exemplified by 苹果淫院鈥檚 female leaders. At the moment, 10 of 苹果淫院鈥檚 14 deans are women; three are the first to ever to lead their Faculty.

Their thoughts on the women who inspire them, the progress that鈥檚 been made, and the barriers that have yet to be broken.

Margaret Mackenzie and Samantha Nepton, both 2023 graduates of the Bachelor of Education program, are finalists for the McCall MacBain Scholarships, Canada鈥檚 largest leadership-based scholarships for master鈥檚 and professional studies.

Each finalist was chosen based on their character, community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic strength, and intellectual curiosity.

Members of 苹果淫院's leadership including the Faculty of Education鈥檚 Associate Dean of Academics, Dr. Sheryl Smith-Gilman, were hosted by the Mohawk community of Kahnaw脿:ke on November 22, 2023 for a day of learning and collaboration.

鈥淲hat a fantastic experience it was to be part of the day of learning at the longhouse,鈥 Dr. Smith-Gilman reported. Apart from her role as Associate Dean, Dr. Smith-Gilman鈥檚 academic career has largely involved Early Childhood Education and Indigenous Education.
