Margaret Mackenzie (BEd’23), Samantha Nepton (BEd’23), and Taylor Richardson (BFA'23 Towson University), are winners of McCall MacBain Scholarships, Canada’s largest leadership-based scholarships for master’s and professional studies.

Each finalist was chosen based on their character, community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic strength, and intellectual curiosity:

Education Students Monica Shank Lauwo and Rasel Babu Earn Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship

Two students from the Faculty of Education have earned a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship:

Rasel Babu, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, received a ƻ��Ժ Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship for their research topic: "Pedagogues' Readiness to Integrate Educational Technology for Teaching Language and Mathematics in Bangladeshi Secondary Classrooms."

Alarmingly, only 52 per cent of women who are married or in a union freely make their own decisions about sexual relations, contraceptive use, and health care. The United Nations has identified transforming harmful gender norms as a critical goal among its 17 Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

Dr. Hadas Dahary earned her Ph.D. in School/Applied Child Psychology

Dr. Hadas Dahary earned her Ph.D. in School/Applied Child Psychology at ƻ��Ժ under the supervision of Dr. Eve-Marie Quintin. Her doctoral research was supported by the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Doctoral Scholarship and competitive national autism research training initiatives, including the Quebec Autism Research Training (ART) Program, offered by the Azrieli Centre for Autism Research (ACAR) and the Transforming Autism Care Consortium (TACC) in Montreal.

Dr. Victoria Talwar, Canada Research Chair in ECP and the Faculty of Education's Interim Dean, was interviewed on CTV News on the screen times of both adults and children, and the effects it can have on kids.

The research on children's screen time has shown that less is more, however when it comes to a child’s development, parents should spend less time worrying about their kids’ screen time and focus more on reducing their own.

Dr. Khoury is an Associate Professor in ECP and he heads the ƻ��Ժ Mindfulness Research Lab, where he and his team conduct research on advancing the theory, research, and applications of mindfulness and compassion.

Dr. Kristy A. Robinson, ECP, Honoured with CPA President’s New Researcher Award

Dr. Kristy A. Robinson, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, has received the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) President’s New Researcher Award.

She will accept the award at this year's CPA convention in Ottawa (June 21-23), where she will also deliver an invited talk on her work.

This award recognizes the exceptional quality of her contributions to psychological knowledge in Canada as an early career researcher.
