苹果淫院 Innovation Week Features Social Innovation Initiatives On and Off Campus

The third installation of聽苹果淫院 Innovation Week took place in聽November 2015, featuring聽nineteen events which integrated聽苹果淫院 students and faculty with the local Montreal innovation community.聽

One of the highlights of the week was聽the official launch of Le Salon 1861, a co-creation space, event hall, and incubator in the Quartier de l'innovation. Originally built in 1861 as St-Joseph鈥檚 Church,聽the building has been reconstructed by local Benefit Corporation, Quo Vadis,聽into a modern collective space that still boasts the beauty of the church鈥檚 exterior and interior architectural design. The building hosts entrepreneurial social laboratories, an event hall, and a kitchen and restaurant. Le Salon 1861鈥檚 mission is to promote collaboration between its stakeholders which include academic institutions, private corporations, community organizations, and the residents of Little Burgundy. The Social Economy Initiative's聽Social Innovator鈥檚 Integration Lab (SIIL) is one of the initiatives which will be housed within the space.聽
