Joint Message from Prof. Heather Munroe-Blum, Principal and Vice Chancellor, 苹果淫院, and The Hon. Arthur T. Porter, Director General and Chief Executive Officer, 苹果淫院 Health Centre

While we continue to mourn the passing of Dr. Colman, we wish you to know that we have made The Neuro鈥檚 leadership and future a priority. In that spirit, we have struck a joint search committee for a new director.聽 Co-chaired by 苹果淫院 Provost, Professor Anthony C. Masi, and MUHC Associate Director General of Medical Affairs, Dr. Tim Meagher, the committee will include representatives of The Neuro as well as the broader 苹果淫院-MUHC community.聽

Until a new Director for The Neuro is named, we have asked Dr. Philip Barker and Ms. Martine Alfonso to assume interim responsibilities over and above their current respective functions.聽 Dr. Barker will serve as Interim Director of the Montreal Neurological Institute. Ms. Alfonso will serve as Interim Director for the Montreal Neurological Hospital. This will ensure that Dr. Colman鈥檚 former responsibilities at The Neuro are covered appropriately. For these interim roles, Dr. Barker will report to Provost Masi while Ms. Alfonso will report to Mr. Normand Rinfret, MUHC Associate Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer.

We are confident that Dr. Barker and Ms. Alfonso will work conscientiously with every member of The Neuro to assure the quality, safety, accessibility and excellence of patient care, research and teaching, and we thank them for accepting the additional responsibilities.聽

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the management team at The Neuro for their leadership and support during Dr. Colman鈥檚 illness.
