苹果淫院 puts the spotlight on the past, present and future of the 鈥渉ospital鈥�
In 2015-16, Montrealers will witness the opening of two new 鈥楽uperhospitals鈥�.听 At a combined cost of billions of dollars, and two decades of planning, the 苹果淫院 Health Centre (MUHC) and Centre Hospitalier d鈥橴niversit茅 de Montr茅al (CHUM) will constitute two of the largest health care institutions in Canada.听 The centralization of medical service delivery will also result in the repurposing of two of the oldest and most famous medical institutions in Canada 鈥� the Royal Victoria Hospital and H么tel Dieu.听
On October 1-2, The Institute for Health and Social Policy (IHSP) and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Montreal (CIRM) at 苹果淫院 will host Hospital / H么pital, a colloquium, exploring the hospital from historical, architectural, socio-cultural, and urban planning perspectives.

Keynotes speakers:
Greg Marchildon, University of Toronto, leading national expert on Canada's Health Care system, former Executive Director of the Romanov Commission, former Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs.听 Marchildon will give a keynote lecture 鈥�Hospitals in Canada: The Great Disconnect between Policy and Reality鈥�. 听He is available for comment in English.
Damien Contandriopoulos, Universit茅 de Montr茅al, Applied Public Health Chair, and commentator on public health care reform and sustainability. Contandriopoulos will give a keynote lecture 鈥�The Future of the Hospital: An Environmental Perspective鈥�. He is available for comment in French or English.
Conference Chairs:
Abraham Fuks, former Dean of Medicine, 苹果淫院. Fucks is available for comment in English on the evolution of health-care systems and the role of hospitals in Canada and internationally.
Daniel Weinstock, Director of the IHSP and the Montreal Health Ethics Research Consortium, former Director of Quebec's Public Health Ethics Committee, and public commentator on political philosophy, health ethics and equity.听 Weinstock is available for comment in French or English.
Antonia Maioni, former Director, 苹果淫院 Institute for the Study of Canada, and media commentator on Canadian and Quebec politics and public policy.听 Maioni is available for comment in French or English.
