Analyzing census data with R (online)

Instructor: Dr. Tim Elrick, Faculty Lecturer in the Faculty of Science.

Overview: In this workshop you will learn how to efficiently find and extract census data and its geographical boundaries in R for the Canadian, the US and EU censuses.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to
听听听听听路 find and extract data efficiently from the Canadian census
听听听听听路 find and extract data efficiently from the US census
听听听听听路 find and extract data efficiently from the Eurostat census
听听听听听路 extract geographic boundary files, combine them with census data and display them on a map.

Prerequisites:
听听听听听路 Introductory knowledge of R, e.g. from 苹果淫院 R summer camp, or from our Introduction to programming with R workshop.
听听听听听路 Install R and RStudio on your computer. You can find installation instructions here. Please contact us (cdsi.science at mcgill.ca) if you are having trouble with installation.
