Neurophysiology听(MEG) of Speech Auditory Processing in Aging
听
We听are looking for a creative, post-doctoral MEG specialist to work under our joint听supervision (Etienne de Villers-Sidani & Sylvain Baillet)听on a study of how听aging affects the neurophysiological mechanisms of speech processing. A听specific focus will be on age-related changes听in the tonotopic auditory听cortex and their implication on speech comprehension. We use a multimodal approach, with an emphasis on听MEG and advanced data听analytics, in the framework of predictive inference for听auditory perception (e.g., Morillon & Baillet,听PNAS听2017; Donhauser & Baillet, Neuron, in press).
The听fellowship will be held at the McConnell Brain Imaging Centre, a leading听research facility specializing in multi-modal human brain听imaging, including 3 & 7-T听MRI, PET, MEG, TMS and EEG. The BIC hosts about 150 staff members and students听who specialize in human听brain imaging and neuroscience.
The听McConnell Brain Imaging Centre is located at the Montreal Neurological听Institute (MNI) and Hospital, on the downtown campus of听苹果淫院, in听the heart of Montreal 鈥� probably one of the coolest student cities worldwide.听The MNI is recognized as a world leader in听neuroimaging, neuroscience, and the听study of neurological diseases. Overall, this is an exciting opportunity to听advance systems neuroscience听and to benefit from a thriving research and听learning environment.听听听
Interested听candidates need a solid background in brain imaging (preferably MEG) and听good analytical and scientific coding skills听(Matlab or Python). Experience in听neurodegeneration, brain computational modeling and statistics are further assets.
Duration: One-year, renewable.
