Mohammad Elfeitori, M1, Economics

Mohammad is an MA Economic student at 苹果淫院. Growing up in 4 developing countries, Mohammad was inspired to study the causes of economic development. Over the next four months, Mohammad will be an economic researcher with Elimu Impact Evaluation Unit in Kenya, studying the economic consequences of installing electricity in remote villages. Outside of professional life, Mohammad loves to cook and hike mountains.

Oscar Judelson-Kelly, U3, Joint Honours Political Science and History

Oscar will be interning at Resource Works, a non-profit that seeks to communicate valuable natural resources insights in British Columbia to citizens, lobbyists and industry leaders in the private and public sectors. The organization seeks to raise the public consciousness of natural resource management in BC: how to reconcile with natural resource development with Indigenous people, how to sustain economic growth and how to protect BC鈥檚 diverse environment.

Hannah Stedman, U2, Honours History

Hannah is a third-year student at 苹果淫院, pursuing a degree in Honours History. She will be interning with the 78^th Fraser Highlanders in Montreal and is excited to increase her knowledge of Canadian history by assisting in research surrounding the Scottish soldiers who fought in the Seven Years鈥� War, many of whom remained in North America. Hannah looks forward to exploring the organization鈥檚 archives and learning about the process of historical and archival research.

Labiba Faiza, U2, International Development Studies and History

Labiba Faiza is a second-year student pursuing a double major in International Development and Cultural Studies with a minor in South Asian Studies. While interning at the Kabir Centre for Arts and Culture, she will work on the organization's Book Club initiative, which aims to facilitate intercultural understanding through meaningful discussions on various societal issues. As a budding reader who is passionate about bridging cultural divides, she looks forward to exploring the ways in which literature can foster social harmony.

Estelle Mi, U2, International Development Studies

Estelle Mi is a second-year student currently doing an Honours in International Development and minoring in East Asian Cultural Studies. She has participated in multiple projects such as Slash Asian which revolved around the issue of Asian women's representation in France and in the photo exhibition Asidentit茅s, which opened at the film festival: 鈥淔estival Plurielles鈥�. The internship at Festival Acc猫s Asie will allow her to deepen her understanding of Asian representation through arts.

Estelle is also receiving the Arts Undergraduate Improvement Fund Internship Award.

Havana Xeros, U2, Psychology

Havana Xeros is a U2 student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Art History. She will be interning remotely at Arts Help, a non-profit organization, founded on the principle of art making the world a better place. Arts Help听has a team of writers creating articles on topics including sustainable development goals, reducing inequalities, and climate action with relevance to current world news and art. She is excited to be a contributing writer and spread awareness on how art can be used for philanthropy.

Michelle Marcus, U2, Political Science

Michelle is a U3 Political Science and Communications student. This summer, she will be working with the Centre for International and Defense Policy under their Network for Strategic Analysis. Michelle will be researching how international law and economics are affected by military capacity and geopolitics. She will work with the NSA team to establish recommendations for Canada's military and foreign policy strategies while attending and reporting on conferences and roundtables discussing Canada's multilateral and international military involvement.

Jacob Anthony, U2, Honours Anthropology and Art History

This summer, Jacob will partake in a research fellowship at Historic Deerfield in Massachusetts. There, he will investigate pre-colonial Pocumtuc occupation in the Connecticut River Valley. Deerfield is among the best-documented towns in the United States, with 300+ years of recorded history and extensive archives. Since most New England histories reduce Indigenous antiquity to a mere footnote, Jacob hopes his research will help bring the past to light.

Sophia Kogan, U2, Art History and Cultural Studies

Sophia Kogan is currently in her third year at 苹果淫院 studying a double major in Art History and Cultural Studies, and a minor in Economics. She has gained valuable work experience through her role at RBC Wealth Management last summer and will continue her professional development in her new role at Galerie de Bellefeuille this summer 2022. This role will provide Sophia with invaluable knowledge and experience to assist her in her future academic and career goals such as obtaining an MA in Art Business or Art History.

Anjali Mehindiratta, U3, Political Science

Anjali is a student at 苹果淫院 entering her fourth and final year. She is studying Political Science, International Development, and History. This summer, she will be interning with the U.S. Commercial Service at the U.S. Consulate General in Toronto. She will be working to provide support with respect to trade-enhancing projects between Canada and the U.S. Anjali鈥檚 research interests revolve around political economy, and international cooperation so she is eager to take on this opportunity.

Joel Sawmadal, U3, Economics and Political听Science

Joel Sawmadal is a entering his final year at 苹果淫院, where he is completing a double major in Economics and Political Science. He will be interning with The Upstream Journal, a Montreal-based non-profit that specializes in matters pertaining to Human Rights, Inequality, and Social Justice, and aims to act as a voice for marginalized communities. During the internship, Joel will conduct rigorous primary research into a topic area of choice, before writing an article and creating a podcast and a short promotional video that outlines his research.

Madeleine Skinner is a U2 arts student pursuing a double major in Cultural Studies and Hispanic Studies. This summer, she will be an intern with the Public Foundation, working alongside the communications and media departments, researching and writing about topics that align with the foundation鈥檚 sustainable development goals.

Olivia Cunneen, U4, Political Science and Sociology

Olivia is a rising fourth year student at 苹果淫院 who will be working as an intern at Parallel Networks this summer. Parallel Networks is an NGO focused around introducing a new perspective and method to counter extremism and the hyperpolarization it creates. Olivia's work will involve outreach for partners in counter-extremism, conducting interviews and research, as well as produce social media content in the interest of countering misinformation.听

Raisa Chowdhury, U1, Economics and Statistics

Raisa is a second-year student in the faculty of Arts, majoring in Economics and Statistics. This summer, Raisa will be interning at National Credit Ratings Ltd. (NCR)鈥攁 credit rating company in Dhaka, Bangladesh. At NCR, she will be exposed to their working processes and rating methodologies used to assess the creditworthiness of various types of companies, with her special focus in small and medium enterprises. She is excited to gain working knowledge on credit rating and the processes behind it.

Rosslyn Sinclair, U3, Urban Studies and Management

Rosslyn Sinclair is entering her final year at Mcgill and will be interning in the department of management at Les Fermes Du Marche, a Montreal based company dedicated to serving Quebec鈥檚 agriculture and food market. Rosslyn鈥檚 responsibilities will be focused on organizational matters, public relations as well as material and human resource management. Rosslyn is passionate about sustainable agriculture and nutrition, thus is excited to embark on this opportunity to connect Quebec farmers and micro-agro businesses with urban populations.

Mohamed Mahmoud is pursing a major in Software Engineering and a double minor in Computer Science and Economics. He will be interning this summer at Robotics Design, an industrial equipment supplier based in Montreal, Canada. He will be exploring, designing, and testing web-based graphical user interfaces used to communicate with motor controllers. He looks forward to this opportunity to apply Software Engineering knowledge gained from his studies.

Elara Neath Thomin, U3, International Development and Political Science

Elara Neath Tomin will complete her bachelor's degree in International Development and Political Science in the fall of 2022. She is interning at the International Observatory of Nature's Rights, where she听is working alongside the Communications and Political Affairs teams. Her role will involve the production of content for both traditional and social media, as well as contributing to current Observatory projects through research and analysis.听

Kate Addison, U3, History and Art History

Kate Addison is a fourth-year arts student working on a double major in History and Art History. She will be interning at The Breach, an independent Canadian media outlet that is committed to platforming voices and stories concerning issues of racism, colonialism and the climate crisis. The Breach intends to subvert establishment media to promote a just and equitable future. In her internship position Kate will help create visual and written content.

Joy Mao, U2, English

Joy is a second-year English Literature major with a minor in Psychology. She will be interning at Shoreline Press, a publishing house based in Quebec鈥檚 Eastern Townships. She looks forward to working with authors and manuscripts in the many stages of publishing a book, as well as learning about Canada鈥檚 publishing industry. Joy is excited to apply her skills and love for literature, and hopes to gain valuable experience towards pursuing a career in publishing.

Drinalba Sh茅rifi, U3, Art history

Drinalba is a third-year undergraduate student in Art History at 苹果淫院. Her passion lies in Museum Studies, for which she wishes to advance professional work in curatorship after graduation. She is fond of contemporary art and the street art scene in Montreal. She aspires to work alongside institutions that promote the development of museums and their inclusivity. She will be interning at the Canadian Federation of Friends of Museum in Montreal, a national organization representing thousands of volunteers and dedicated to the preservation of Canadian heritage.

Alice Wu, U3, English

Alice (she/her) is a U3 English Literature student with minors in French and Management. She will be interning at V茅hicule Press, a Montreal-based publishing company that specializes in Canadian fiction, poetry, and social history. She will take on a variety of editorial and marketing tasks to help transform manuscripts into polished works in readers鈥� hands. Passionate about storytelling, Alice has published in several campus journals this year and is delighted to learn more about the ins of the publishing industry.

Nazlie Najafi, U3, Islamic Studies

Nazlie is a third year student majoring in Islamic Studies. This summer, she听will intern for the Al Rashid Mosque at Fort Edmonton as a Historical Interpreter and Researcher. She will work as an on-site history guide and develop future programming for the living museum. As a student of World Islamic and Middle East studies, she听is thrilled to further exercise and apply her knowledge of Muslim histories during her time at Al Rashid.

Anne Kwon, U3, English and World Cinema

Anne Kwon is entering her fourth year at 苹果淫院, completing a degree in English and World Cinema. She will be interning at Suoni Per Il Popolo Festival, an international contemporary avant-garde music festival. During the summer, Anne Kwon will be performing a variety of co-ordinational and promotional work while she learns about the variety of eclectic forms of music and genres. The festival intersects her passion for communication, performances, and cultural theory.

Jinwen听Wu, U2, Art听History

Jinwen is pursuing a major in art history, with a minor in world cinema. This summer, she will be interning at Gomove Technology, a powerful delivery and fulfillment cloud platform that offers last-mile delivery solutions for retailers and logistics providers. As their graphic designer intern, she will be redesigning the company鈥檚 landing page, designing icons for the Gomove software, as well as contributing to their marketing campaigns. Throughout her internship, she looks forward to learning and growing with the company.

Vrinda Garg, U1, Computer Science and Economics

This summer, Vrinda will be interning with Grant Thornton in India, working in their Cybersecurity vertical. Youth in Motion is a youth organization based in Little Burgundy whose mission focuses on empowering at risk teenagers to become successful learners, make positive informed life choices and reach their full potential. Juliette hopes to acquire better understanding of the needs of Montr茅al communities to have a positive and substantial impact.

Catriona Arnott, U1, Political Science

Catriona Arnott is finishing her first year in Political Science and Economics and is excited to be spending her summer with Red Sand Project, a Connecticut-based non-profit organization taking action against human trafficking and labour exploitation. She will be conducting field research on grassroots organizing and using her findings to introduce a pilot project in the community. She looks forward to honouring, learning from, and furthering the work of social justice organizations at the community level.

Anushree Joshi, M1, English

Anushree Joshi (she/her) will pursue a Digital Rights Fellowship role at the Internet Freedom Foundation in New Delhi, India. IFF is a non-profit digital rights advocacy organization, wherein Anushree would work in the communications and research vertical to enhance digital literacy and strive to develop an understanding of fundamental rights within digital culture and new media within Indian society. Her MA research currently focuses on the intersections of resistance poetry, digital culture, digital humanities, and activism on the Internet.

Benjamin Ogden, U2, Joint Honours History and Philosophy

Benjamin Ogden is a rising U3 international student from Atlanta, Georgia. In the Summer of 2022, he will be participating in a research internship at the Black Watch Regimental Museum and Archives. Pursuing a joint honors degree in history and philosophy, Benjamin is eager to engage with the rich primary sources held at the Regiment. Due to the regiment's place of significance in the history of Montreal, Canada, and the British Empire, he听is excited to gain hands on archival experience at such a noteworthy institution.

Aneeka is pursuing a double major in Anthropology and Political Science and a minor in Canadian Ethnic and Racial Studies. This summer, she will be interning at La Bo卯te Rouge VIF, an Indigenous non-profit organization based in Chicoutimi, Quebec. La Bo卯te Rouge VIF collaborates with communities to deliver creative projects dedicated to cultural preservation and transmission. Aneeka is Inuk and is excited to gain experience in an Indigenous organization that shares her passion for community-based cultural and educational projects.

Maxiene is a fourth-year student majoring in Political Science and History. This summer, she will work in Montreal with the UNHCR Canada, the UN Refugee Agency. Maxiene has always been committed highlighting and combating human rights violations as a result of someone鈥檚 immigration status. With this internship, Maxiene is looking forward to continuing to explore the relationship between human rights, international law, and refugees鈥� status.

Monty Weatherall, U3, International Development Studies

Monty is a U3 student pursuing a degree in International Development. He will be spending the summer as a Program Intern at Toronto Inner City Rugby Foundation. TIRF is a rugby-centred community development organisation that uses rugby as a tool for social good, building community through rugby in Toronto鈥檚 low-income neighbourhoods. A member of the 苹果淫院 Mens Rugby team, Monty is looking forward to learning in a not-for-profit setting and applying principles of International Development.

Wendy Zhao, U2, English

Wendy, pursuing a double major in English Literature and History, will be completing an internship with the Regent Park Film Festival in Toronto. The Film Festival hosts an annual free community film festival for the Regent Park community featuring films that tell the stories of the BIPOC communities they serve. As an avid lover of all forms of storytelling, Wendy is looking forward to learning from the RPFF team about non-profit work and the place of art in supporting and empowering marginalized groups.

Benjamin Archacki, U3, Economics

Ben is a U3 Economics major with two minors in Political Science and Management. This summer, Ben will work with the Indigenous Livelihoods Enhancement Partners (ILEPA) based in Narok County, Kenya. ILEPA is a non-profit, community-based organization focused on a variety of issues including human rights, Indigenous support, environmental causes, and social justice. During this internship, Ben will contribute to ILEPA鈥檚 important work by assisting with data analytics, conducting research, and publishing an independent report.

Marie-Chantal Plouffe, U2, Political Science

Marie-Chantal is a second-year Political Science student with a minor in Communications. She will be interning at Climate Reality Project Canada, an organization that defends bottom-up initiatives as the solutions towards sustainability. As French-Canadian and Mexican, this opportunity will allow her to contribute her unique perspective and personal cultural heritage to this learning experience. She is looking forward to developing her knowledge about the intersectionality of issues related to climate change.

M茅lanie Rechnitzer, U3, International Development Studies

M茅lanie is a third-year student majoring in International Development Studies and minoring in Hispanic Studies and GSFS. She will be interning with 脡duconnexion, an NGO based in Montreal where she will be assisting the staff in creating and promoting workshops on eco-citizenship, human rights and global inequality. As someone who has been longing to gain hands-on experience, she is highly motivated to contribute to her community while learning how to raise awareness about social injustices.

Sydney, (she/her), is double major in Political Science and Gender, Sexuality, Feminist and Social Justice Studies (GSFS). She will be interning at the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD), a non-profit organization that seeks to deepen democratic consolidation and inclusive growth. Her main responsibility will be to assist project managers in their respective research areas. She looks forward to gaining experience with hands on research and how it translates into tangible legislation and positive change.

Camille Deslongchamps, U1 , Classics

Studying Classics, Camille has a passion for the ancient. This summer, she will combine that interest with her identity as a Roman Catholic, interning in Rome, Italy, for art historian, scholar, and tour guide Dr. Liz Lev. She will be helping Dr. Lev with research and tours in the Sistine Chapel as well as other churches around Rome. She is incredibly excited to learn more about ancient and renaissance art with Dr. Lev!

Kiho Hazelton-Cook, U2, Honours International Development Studies

Kiho is an undergraduate student seeking to learn more about the ways human development can be consolidated with environmental integrity through an internship with the Panamanian NGO CREHO Ramsar. The internship will expose him to community-based conservation of forests in the Santa Maria River watershed, where climate change and land-use change are affecting the hydrology and livelihoods of the area.

Vanja Lugonjic, U3,听International Development Studies

Vanja has one semester left in her Undergraduate degree at 苹果淫院 learning about International Development Studies with minors in social entrepreneurship and economics. This summer, she is interning with goLEAD, a project incubator that empowers students to use their problem-solving skills for local good. Previously a participant, she hopes that her work with goLEAD allows for today鈥檚 generations to not feel helpless in the fight for climate action.

Florence Malgras, U3, Honours Urban Studies

Florence is going in her final year of undergraduate studies in the Honours Urban Studies program with minors in Political Science and Hispanic Studies. She will be interning at OpenCitiz, a strategy consulting firm seeking to support regional governments with their digital transition. Florence looks forward to developing her understandings of smart urban policy, citizen inclusiveness and digital sovereignty and ultimately hopes to further her academic and career goals in the field of sustainable urban policy.

She is doing it by covering the Global news section at the radio station to bring awareness to issues all around the world and to help start a discussion about them!

Madalena Monteiro, U2,听International Development Studies

Madalena will be interning at The Advocates for Human Rights, an American legal organization and NGO that seeks to aid and protect vulnerable populations around the world. As their Women鈥檚 Human Rights intern, she will have the opportunity to conduct research for the United Nations and the International Court of Justice, participate in fact-finding missions, and monitor the global emergence of the far-right movement.

Ana Inez Olszewski, U2,听Honours Art听History

Inez is an Honours Art History student and Communications Studies minor and varsity athlete at 苹果淫院. This summer Inez will be interning at the Ronin Gallery, a Japanese and East Asian art gallery located in New York City that houses the largest collection of Japanese prints in the United States. Inez carries a strong interest in public relations and communications within gallery and museum settings and hopes to use this opportunity to acquire the experience and knowledge necessary for a future career in the art world.

Margo Berthier, U2,听Geography

Margo is a U2 student pursuing a major in geography (urban studies) and a double minor concentration in environment and social entrepreneurship. Over the next two months, she will be interning at NewCities, a non-profit organization that takes on urban projects to create healthier, more inclusive, and more resilient cities through the use of collaboration. Margo is looking forward to being a research and project assistant, supporting the team and assisting in coordinating events.

Ivana (Yixing)听Wang , M2 , Hispanic Studies

This summer, Ivana will be interning at Latin American News Digest, a Washington, D.C.-based publication dedicated to expanding the reach of news coverage and analysis produced by Latin American media. Her duties will include aggregating and writing condensed versions of news articles from Latin American sources. She will also have the opportunity to research and write her own aggregations with her own bylines. As an M.A. student in Hispanic Studies who did her B.A. in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, Ivana is excited to know more about the ongoing events in Latin America and looks forward to improving her translation and writing skills.

Avishai Infeld, U2, Political Science & Jewish Studies

Avishai is entering his fourth year at 苹果淫院 and is majoring in political science and Jewish studies. He is participating in the Wiesenthal International Advocacy Program in New York City. The primary component of this is an internship at the Auschwitz Jewish Center Foundation where he is working on a variety of projects. There are also weekly meetings with experts and elected officials active in diplomacy and international relations. Additionally, Avishai has been paired with a mentor who works in the field.

Isabelle Lamarre, U1, Political Science

Isabelle is in her first year pursuing a major in political science and a minor in history. This summer she will be interning at DESTA, a non-profit organization based in Montreal. DESTA strives to empower the Black anglophone youth of the city. Isabelle will assist the organization by researching for their Know Your Rights and re-entry programs that are meant to empower felons and their families. Furthermore, she looks forward to learning about being a part of the work that DESTA does in helping the Black Community of Montreal.

Kik猫 Adoutan, U3, Political Science and International Development Studies

Kik猫 is entering her final year in Political Science and IDS. She will be interning this summer with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and African Integration in Cotonou, Benin. She will obtain a first-hand experience of the inner workings of a ministry and apply what she learns through tasks while developing research skills in French. Kik猫 is looking forward to gaining experience in her field of studies.

Alice Ishimwe is a Social Work student interested in migration and refugee issues and who intends to pursue a career in macro-social work. This summer, she is interning with Prof. Charles Gyan鈥檚 research team to broaden her expertise in qualitative data analysis and participate in projects that inform policies for immigrants. She is looking forward to professionalize her understanding of experiences of participants through creative research methods.

Nnenna Onwukwe, U2, International Development Studies

Nnenna Onwukwe is a U2 student in International Development Studies who will be interning at The African Canadian Development and Prevention Network (ACDPN). ACDPN is a community organization dedicated to advocating for the English-speaking Black community (ESBC) in the greater Montreal area through Health and Social Services. Her primary responsibilities will be to assist the Organization鈥檚 director and assistant through advocacy activities. Nnenna hopes that this experience will give her practical experience in community work.

Nakshatra Akella, U3, Economics

Nixie is a fourth-year undergraduate student pursuing an Economics major and a minor in English Cultural Studies. She will spend her summer interning with the South Rift Association of Landowners (SORALO), an organisation that aims to ameliorate and preserve the ecosystems of the Kajiado County in Southern Kenya. With a keen interest in ecological economics, Nixie hopes to use this experience to engage in community-based research and action to effectively sustain unique ecosystems.听听

Elijah Aedo-Castillo will be interning at Audace au听f茅minin, Salon international de la femme noire. Audace au听f茅minin is a Montreal-based non-profit organization that works toward the emancipation and socio-economic empowerment of Black Women. Audace au听f茅minin offers solutions against systemic racism and the invisibility of Black Women through an inclusive and egalitarian approach. Elijah looks forward to learning invaluable lessons from this internship and contributing to the fulfilment of Audace au听f茅minin's primary goals.

Karlee Thomas, U3, International Development Studies

Karlee Thomas is entering her final year of International Development studies with a minor in Political Science. She will be interning with The Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED)鈥攁 non-profit organization focused on tackling poverty and inequality by supporting girls to go to school and empowering young women to step up as leaders in Africa. She looks forward to applying her advocacy experience to support CAMFED in report writing, fundraising, and outreach.

Adedoyin Caroline Adewunmi is a Graduate Student at the 苹果淫院 School of Social Work. She is an international student from Nigeria. This summer she is excited to be interning remotely with Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED) Canada to support the organization's mission of tackling inequality and poverty by prioritizing girls' education and women's empowerment. Adedoyin is passionate about education, and hopes to refine her research skills from this internship while promoting empowerment and self-agency.听

Coves Larose, U1, Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice

Coves is a first year student of GSFS passionate about social justice. This summer, they will be interning at Fondation 脡mergence in Montreal. They will participate in raising the public鈥檚 awareness concerning the LGBTQ2S+ community鈥檚 challenges. They will participate in the foundation鈥檚 organization of events, ceremonies, and collect signatures for the UN鈥檚 recognition of The International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia that this very organization founded.

Zach Brousseau, U2, Economics and Political Science

Zach Brousseau is a second year student in Economics and Political Science with a minor in Qu茅bec Studies and Community Engaged Learning. He is incredibly excited to work with Youth in Motion this summer, and escape the 苹果淫院 bubble by working in Little Burgundy. Zach looks forward to involving himself in and contributing to the quarter鈥檚 vibrant community life, and he is excited to learn more about how the neighbourhood鈥檚 history impacts its residents today.

Rebecca McFadyen, U2, Political Science

Rebecca is a third-year student pursuing a major in Political Science and a minor in Quebec Studies. This summer, Rebecca will be an intern at Le Centre de Ressources et d鈥橝ction Communautaire de La Petite-Patrie (CRACPP). Through their promotion of food security and their fight against food waste, CRACPP is able to improve the living conditions of citizens of the Petite-Patrie. Wang De Yue Qin, U2, Honours History

Wangdeyue is a third-year student pursuing a major in honours History with a double-minor in East Asian Cultural Studies and Art History. This summer, she will be interning for the Jardins de M茅tis/Reford Gardens, a Canadian National Historic Site located in Grand-M茅tis, Quebec. She will be conducting research on Anna Lois Dawson鈥檚 artistic career and her contributions to the natural sciences in the 19th century, which involves examining a collection of personal correspondence, paintings, and sketches.

Pryor Sohn, U1, Political Science

Pryor Sohn is a U1 student majoring in Political Science and Minoring in International Development. This summer he will be working with Youth in Motion, a community outreach organization in Montreal鈥檚 Petite-Bourgogne neighbourhood. The organization works to give young people a safe place to gather and encourages them to become political involved. Pryor is excited to start working with Youth in Motion and for the opportunity to get experience working with local community leaders.

Kimberly Yang, U1, Quebec Studies

Kimberly is a passionate first-year student at 苹果淫院 who has fallen head over heels with all things related to youth engagement. This summer, she will be interning at the Peter-苹果淫院 Community Council, a non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering community involvement in the Peter-苹果淫院 neighbourhood. As a Communications Assistant Intern, Kimberly will be heavily involved in establishing connections with diverse stakeholders through different forms of media, and is ecstatic to further promote civic engagement amongst all.

Ava Torkaman, U3, Political Science and International Development Studies

Ava is a third-year student majoring in Political Science and International Development Studies. She will be interning with the U.S Commercial Service, an organization which assists US companies to meet their exporting needs in Quebec. She will be primarily conducting market research and assisting with trade events. This internship will grant her a better understanding about Canada-US diplomacy through its political and economic relations.

Saadwi Balaji, U2, Honours International Development Studies

Saadwi is a second-year student in Honours International Development Studies, minoring in Social Entrepreneurship and Psychology. She will be interning with Help Kids India Inc., which supports its partner, the Betsy Elizabeth Trust. BET is a South Indian grassroots organization that comprises several preschool cr猫ches. These have been successful in promoting educational opportunities, mainly for Dalit children. Saadwi is excited to use her mother tongue to engage with the cr猫che communities and hone her skills as a story-teller.

Susie Strachan, U1, History

Following her second year at 苹果淫院, Susie will be interning with Jardins de M茅tis/Reford Gardens. Utilizing the archives of the Montreal Council of Social Agencies, the Women鈥檚 Canadian Club, and the Montreal Maternity Hospital, she will research and document the life of the organization鈥檚 founder, Elsie Reford. As a passionate history student, Susie is looking forward to working with primary documents and the community of historians working on the Elsie Project.

Maliha Omar Elma, U2, Economics

Maliha Omar is a second-year student completing her Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Economics and is minoring in Political Science and Social Entrepreneurship at 苹果淫院. She is excited to be completing an internship with the Kabir Centre for Arts and Culture. She will be interning for the South Asian Film Festival. Kabir Centre is a not-for-profit foundation that focuses on South Asian culture and its rich history. This foundation amalgamates the richness of South Asian culture with the vibrancy of Montreal itself, allowing people of different cultures to come together and celebrate together. Maliha is excited about her journey with them and she is positive that she will learn a lot from them.

Melina Tsiolis, U1, Psychology and Sociology

Melina is a first-year student majoring in both Psychology and Sociology. This summer, she will be interning with the 苹果淫院 Health Centre (MUHC) Foundation. She is dedicated and eager to help the organisation in their noble mission to improve clinical medicine, especially during the trying times of the Covid-19 pandemic. The MUHC Foundation has raised millions to perform industry-leading research and provide the best possible patient care to those in their hospitals.

Claudia Velimirovic, U2,Honours International Development

Claudia is in her third-year pursuing honours International Development with a minor in Social Entrepreneurship. This summer, she will intern with the Commercial Section of the U.S. Consulate General. As an intern, she will provide research and analysis on U.S.-Quebec Commercial Opportunities and conduct trade-related market research. Claudia looks forward to applying what she has learned in her studies to the commercial section.

Catherine Wang, U1, International Development Studies

Catherine is pursuing a B.A. in International Development and this summer she will be interning at the Delegation of the European Union to Canada. As a Political and Public Affairs Intern, her primary responsibilities will be to attend and take notes at diplomatic meetings, prepare press reviews, and draft reports for distribution to EU headquarters and Member States. She is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the development of EU-Canada relations.

Fion Zhen, U1, History and Philosophy

As part of the Chinese Historical Society of Southern California鈥檚 鈥淔ive Chinatowns鈥� project, Fion will be working with professors in the field and community elders to document the oral histories of Chinese-Americans prior to the year 1965. She is looking forward to the ways her academic interests in phenomenology and modern Chinese history will animate her contributions. Raised in the 鈥楥antonese Pacific,鈥� they are delighted to work on a project that hits close to home.

Kathryn Grupp, U3, International Development Studies and Political Science

Kathryn Grupp is a rising third year majoring in International Development and Political Science with a minor in Hispanic Studies. She will spend the summer at Border Servant Corps in Las Cruces, New Mexico. BSC works to provide temporary shelter and travel assistance to asylum seekers, collaborates with other NGOs, and runs the Border Immersion Program which educates groups on the immigration process. Kathryn will help run this program and BSC鈥檚 other projects.

Dilara Bhuiyan, U2, International Development Studies

Dilara is completing her B.A. in International Development Studies with a double minor in Mathematics and Communication Studies. She will be interning for the Festival Acces Asie, Canada鈥檚 longest continuously running Asian heritage arts festival. Festival Acc猫s Asie is a Montr茅al-based arts festival that promotes Asian arts, cultures and histories through a diversity of artistic disciplines including the visual arts, dance, theatre, video, film, music, comedy, poetry, literature, performance, new media and culinary arts. Passionate about Asian culture as a South Asian herself, Dilara looks forward to learning about event coordination, and how the festival conveys the richness of Asian culture.

Sajneet Mangat, U3, History and Social Studies of Medicine

This summer, Sajneet will be interning at the Institute of Human Development and Well-being at 苹果淫院. In this role, she will be supporting the transdisciplinary work of the Institute to understand and test policy interventions for marginalized peoples. As her interests lie in the multiple intersections of history, health, and law, the Goodman Family Internship Award will be invaluable in her endeavour to develop critical competencies for community work and graduate studies.

Molly McKenzie, U3, Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice Studies

Molly McKenzie is a fourth-year honours student in Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice Studies, with a double minor in Indigenous Studies and Religious Studies. They will be interning with More Than Words at the Participatory Cultures Lab, an arts-based project addressing sexual and gender-based violence through Indigenous-focused youth-led survivor engagement. With a passion for the arts and an orientation towards fostering the thriving and joy of marginalized communities, Molly is thrilled to be working on this essential project.

Shailee Rajak, M1, English

Shailee will be interning at Teesri Duniya, a culturally-diverse theatre company鈥攅stablished in Montreal in 1981鈥攖hat produces plays by visible minorities and First Nations, which reflect the vibrant Canadian cultures. As part of its 40th anniversary celebration, she will be working on researching and documenting the theatre鈥檚 historical development, the aesthetics and politics of its plays as well as its artistic contribution to the flourishing socio-cultural ethos of the city. She looks forward to studying the impact of performance and theatre in bringing out the voice of marginalized communities in the hopes of creating an inclusive society.

Juliet Morrison, U1,听Honours Political Science

Juliet is a second-year student pursuing a degree in Honours Political Science with a minor in Gender, Sexuality, Feminism, and Social Justice. This summer, she will be interning with the Inter Press Service at their United Nations bureau in New York. Juliet will be supporting the organisation by writing feature articles on issues of global concern and covering UN press briefings. As someone both fascinated by the challenges of global governance and passionate about journalism, Juliet is thrilled about the opportunity to report for an international news agency.

Yustine Alejandra Carruyo Soto, U3, Psychology

Yustine Carruyo is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Psychology with a minor in Behavioural Sciences. Her internship will take place in the Pediatric Oncology Neuro Social Lab at Sainte-Justine Hospital. During her internship she will analyze neurocognitive data previously collected from a large dataset of pediatric brain tumour survivors. She is also passionate about making her research accessible in Spanish in order to contribute to the advancement of science where Spanish is the primary language. Her primary career goal is to improve the quality of life of children through neuropsychology and research.

Shad茅 Chrun-Tremblay, U3, Honours Anthropology

Shad茅 is a U3 student pursuing an Honours Anthropology degree with a minor in Economics. This summer she will work as a research assistant for Professor Katherine Frohlich at the ESPUM (脡cole de Sant茅 Publique de l鈥橴niversit茅 de Montr茅al) on her project Levelling the Playing Fields. This is an intervention-based project which aims to explore how innovative models of street transformation (School Streets and Play Streets) promote free play and independent mobility for children in the city of Montreal.

Ziqi Fu, U2, Cognitive Science

Ziqi Fu is a U2 cognitive science student with a minor in psychology. This summer, she is going to do an internship at the Institute of Psychology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She will work as a research assistant in the Human Factors Lab under the supervision of Dr. Liang Zhang. Her project is on driving and workload, aiming to design more cognitively efficient human-machine interfaces to provide safer journeys on vehicles.

Olfa Ait Siselmi, U2, Liberal Arts

Olfa is a second-year student pursuing a major in Liberal Arts. She will be interning at Equitas, a non-profit organization based in Montreal committed to promoting human rights ideals via education. Throughout the internship, she will be a member of the Canadian Team. She will thus assist in a variety of ways with their programmes for children and youth, partners, and other community members. She looks forwards to enhance her dedication for human rights and to translate her academic experience into effective action.

Ioannis Dedes, U2, Political Science and History

Ioannis Dedes is a U2 student at 苹果淫院, majoring in Political Science and History. He is also an award-winning writer and researcher with 250+ online publications, 10+ agency collaborations, and 150,000+ online reads. He will be entering an internship at the Canadian Institute of Greece (CIG) in Athens. CIG is a privately-funded, not-for-profit organization incorporated in Canada that seeks to promote Canadian research and education in fields relating to Greece鈥檚 heritage. Ioannis will conduct and promote archaeological fieldwork, provide resources for scholarly research, and create content based on an academic program of seminars, lectures, and conferences for Ancient Greece.

Shelby Deegan, U2, Joint Honours Environment and International Development

This summer, Shelby will be interning remotely with the Lake Stewards of Maine. Lake Stewards of Maine is a non-profit organization working to train volunteers to monitor and gather data on watershed health in Maine. Shelby will work mainly on fundraising for the organization. She is very excited to gain hands-on experience working for a non-profit environmental organization and learning skills such as grant writing, research, water conservation, and fostering long-term sustainability for a non-profit.

Alexandre Hinton, U2, History

Currently a third-year history and communications student at 苹果淫院, Alex Hinton will be working at The Counter, a non-profit, nonpartisan newsroom, investigating the forces shaping how and what America eats. Alex will be producing short documentaries concerning the most relevant agriculture and food systems stories happening today. He hopes to bring with him the storytelling skills he learned as the former Multimedia Editor of The 苹果淫院 Tribune.

Alexandre is also receiving the Arts Undergraduate Improvement Fund Internship Award.

Daphne听Moss, U2, Joint Honors Anthropology and History

Daphne is a third-year student completing a Joint Honours in Anthropology and History. She will be interning with the Jardin de M茅tis/Redford Gardens, a Canadian National Historic Site and a Quebec heritage site, where she will be working to initiate a project promoting community engagement in primary source transcription efforts and showcasing the accomplishments that have been made so far along these lines. Daphne is passionate about cultural heritage preservation, and she is looking forward to seeing where this project will go.

Homa Azodi, U3, Joint Honours International Development and History

Homa Azodi is pursuing a Joint Honours program in International Development and History. This summer she will be an Eco-citizenship Education Intern with 脡duconnexion in Montreal. As an intern, Homa will provide education about human rights, eco-citizenship and global inequality. She will engage with educational tools and interactive workshops to reinforce awareness in schools, NGOs and community groups. She looks forward to this opportunity to engage with her interests in sustainability and global health.

Rosalie Joly Simard, U2, Geography and Environment

Rosalie is a U2 student in geography (urban studies) and environment. This summer she will be interning at the Climate Reality Project Canada, an organization dedicated to tackling climate change through education and grassroots action. As Youth Engagement Intern she will assist with the Campus Corps program which helps support young people in taking action against climate change. She will also work on planning the Campus Climate Action Summit and work on outreach to universities.

Aviya Cammy, U1, Art History and Religious Studies

Aviya will intern this summer at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. She will work in the Fischbach Division of Modern Art, where she will gain first hand curatorial experience. Aviya is looking forward to putting to work her skills in Arabic and Hebrew, and to researching the development of Israeli art. Aside from her passion for museums, Aviya is also excited to paint while in Jerusalem.

Lana El-Hage, U3, Psychology

Lana is a third-year student pursuing a major in Psychology with a double minor in Behavioral Science and Communication. This summer, she will be interning with The Institute for Human Development and Well-being), a transdisciplinary unit that investigates the role that leadership and policymaking can play in the human development and well-being of at-risk populations. Lana looks forward to learning more about participatory visual methods, contributing to transdisciplinary research, and helping with knowledge mobilization.

Catherine Zambrano, U2, Joint Honours Anthropology and Political Science

Catherine Zambrano is pursuing a Joint Honours Arts Undergraduate degree in Anthropology and Political Science. This summer, she will be interning with the Participatory Cultures Lab (PCL) at 苹果淫院. The PCL鈥檚 work links to issues of social justice, gender-based violence and poverty alleviation. Catherine is looking forward to learning about methods of visual and other participatory approaches to research and social action through this internship experience.

Yudan Celine Wu, U3, Cognitive Science

C茅line is pursuing a major in Cognitive Science with a minor in Art History. She is always passionate about art. In summer 2022, she will be interning with the Participatory Cultures Lab (PCL), an organization that conducts studies using visual and other participatory approaches to research and social action. She appreciates this internship opportunity and wants to learn about the implementation of visual tools, arts-based approaches, and other methodologies in an academic field.

William Weston, U3, History

This will be William鈥檚 second time interning with the Black Watch Museum and Archives. He is eager to continue his work in the archives from last summer, and will also be involved in the reopening of the regimental museum following renovations. As an incoming graduate student in history, William will be conducting research throughout his internship, using new primary source material to examine the complexities of Highland regimental identity in Canada.

Shuchita Das, U3, Honours International Development Studies

Shuchita is a third-year student pursuing an Honours in International Development Studies, and a Major in Psychology. This summer, she will be working with the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, Kenya. Shuchita, as a Digital Strategy intern, has the opportunity to contribute to the Stockholm+50 conference, facilitated by UNEP, and co-chaired by Sweden and Kenya, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1972 United Nations Conference on the Human Environment.

Viktor Biquet, U2, Economics and International Development Studies

Viktor Biquet will intern at the Kenyan-based trust 鈥淚ndigenous Movement for Peace Advancement and Conflict Transformation鈥� (IMPACT), as part of the Institutional Canopy Conservation project. Its main objective is to identify effective community-based conservation programs. This aligns with Viktor鈥檚 interests in sustainable development and enhancing marginalized communities鈥� voices. He is looking forward to applying his analysis and content development skills to gain meaningful experience in undertaking research and conducting bottom-up development strategies.

Aylin Sari, MA, Political Science and Development Studies

Aylin is a first-year Master鈥檚 student in Political Science and Development Studies. She will be conducting an internship with the Indigenous Livelihoods Enhancement Partners (ILEPA), a partner in the Institutional Canopy of Conservation (I-CAN) research project. ILEPA is a community-based NGO working for human and land rights. Aylin is honored to learn more about local level development and the particular land issues facing by the Maasai community in Narok County, Kenya.

Mahua Nath, U1, Honours Political Science

Mahua Nath is a second-year student pursuing her honours degree in Political Science with a minor in Religious Studies. Mahua has the pleasure of working with Synergos, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating regenerative solutions for alleviating global poverty while taking collective action by fostering bridging leadership. As their developmental intern, Mahua looks forward to gaining experience across internal non-profit operations such as fundraising and development, conducting research on projects and initiatives, and data collection for the internal organization metrics and database.听

Hazel Berger, U3, Gender, Feminist, and Social Justice Studies

Hazel is in her final year of undergraduate studies as a Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice Studies student with a double minor in East Asian Studies and Political Science. This summer, she will intern at Synergos, a global non-profit based in New York City that addresses critical issues such as poverty, climate change, and social injustice. Hazel hopes to gain experience in the nonprofit sector by applying her studies to promote Synergos鈥� mission of building trusting relationships and making a social impact.

Kiran Basra, U2, Philosophy and Political Science

Kiran is a third year student pursuing a double major in Philosophy and Political Science. This summer, she will be interning at the Permanent Mission of Canada to the International Organizations in Vienna. At the Mission, Kiran will be working with the UN Office for Drugs and Crime on the 31st Session of The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. Specifically, Kiran will be contributing to Canada鈥檚 foreign policy on international crimes like terrorism, cybercrime, corruption, the smuggling of migrants, child sexual exploitation, and human trafficking.

Naomi Shi, U3, Honours Political Science

Naomi is a fourth year student pursuing an honours in Political Science with听minors in History and East Asian Studies. This summer, Naomi will intern with the Permanent Mission of Canada to the International Organizations in Vienna听(VPERM). As a Policy Intern, she will be assisting the Mission in the promotion and advocacy of Canadian interests and policies at the organizations headquartered in Vienna. She is especially looking forward to learning more about being directly involved with diplomacy in practice.听

Hyeyoon Cho, U3, Communication Studies

Hyeyoon will be interning remotely at International Institute of Sustainable Development, an independent think tank based in Winnipeg, Canada, that strives to accelerate solutions for a stable climate, sustainable resources, and fair economies. As their resilience intern, she is excited to be conducting research on Canadian and international climate change adaptation and mitigation measures.

Dounia Al Jijakli, U3, Honours Political Science

Dounia Al Jijakli is a third-year Honours Political Science student with a minor in East Asian studies. This summer, she will have the opportunity to intern with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Guatemala, where she will support the protection unit in activities related to advocacy, community outreach and capacity-building to promote protection and solutions for persons of concern. Dounia hopes to contribute meaningfully to the UNHCR's project in alleviating refugees' hardship.

Elizabeth Rampersad, U2, Honours International Development Studies

Elizabeth Rampersad is a U2 student pursuing an Honours degree in International Development Studies. This summer she will be interning abroad with an NGO called Creating Opportunities for Guatemalans. This organization seeks to fund and support children through their education and help their mothers gain work skills to support their families. During her internship, Elizabeth will be an administrative assistant, and ESL teacher, while also assisting their on-site social worker with their duties.

Noah Oder, M1, Political Science

Noah is a first-year graduate student in European Studies. In his thesis, he will examine the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the European labor market. To better understand how the institutional side is dealing with these challenges, he will be interning at the European Representation of the German Federal Employment Agency. After his graduation, Noah is aiming for a position within the European Commission - preferably in the Directorate-General for "Employment, Social Affairs, and Inclusion".

Teva Alon, U1, Cognitive Science

Teva is a rising U2 student majoring in Cognitive Science and minoring in Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies. She will be interning with the United Nations World Food Program in Panama which focuses on food assistance and emergency aid in Latin America and the Caribbean region. Teva is interested in understanding the inner workings of a large-scale humanitarian organization and is looking forward to supporting the UNWFP's communication team in pursuit of interdisciplinary solutions for global food insecurity.

Thu Nguyen, U1, Political Science and Psychology

Thu Nguyen is a U1 student in Political Science and Psychology. For Summer 2022, she will be interning at Synergos Institute, a non-profit organization based in New York that seeks to coordinate governmental, local, and private efforts to find practical and long-term solutions for poverty. At Synergos, she will be working with the Human Resources department. She hopes to be able to gain experience in working for an NGO as well as observations for multiple departments in the organization.

Lizzie Dixon, U2, Political Science and English Literature

Lizzie is a third-year student at 苹果淫院. She is studying Political Science, English Literature, and French. This summer, she will be interning with the United States Senate. Lizzie will be responsible for administrative tasks within the office and will work on foreign relations, homeland security, and veterans affairs legislative projects. Lizzie looks forward to the opportunity to serve her community, further cultivate her interest in public service, and experience the legislative process in action.

Kasem Alheik, M1, Political Science

After receiving a B.Sc. in International Studies, Kasem is currently a first-year master鈥檚 student in political science with a specialization in Development Studies. He will be interning with The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), precisely at the Development Co-operation Directorate (DCD). An opportunity that will allow him to work with an international organization that continues to shape principles of foreign aid and development policies to help achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in developing countries.

Chloe Staller, U3, Honours Political Science and International Development Studies

Chlo茅 is a third-year student, pursuing a Joint Honours degree in Political Sciences and International Development Studies, with a minor in Social Entrepreneurship. She will be joining the United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) in Panama as an intern in the Latin American and Caribbean regional branch. Through this internship experience, Chlo茅 hopes to gain firsthand experience in the humanitarian field and she looks forward to learning more about emergency responses and international assistance.

Emilia Dominguez, U2, Political Science and Latin American and Caribbean Studies

Emilia Dominguez is a third-year student pursuing a double major in Political Science and Latin American & Caribbean Studies at 苹果淫院. She will be interning at the United Nations World Food Programme based in Panama, the world鈥檚 largest humanitarian organization, and assisting in the fight against food insecurity. She is looking forward to working with the communications unit to conduct media research and facilitate the dissemination of the organization鈥檚 work.

Sara Escallon, U1, Environment Studies

Sara Escallon is a second-year student pursuing a B.A. & Sc.in Environment with a minor in Geography. She will be interning with the United Nations Higher Council for Refugees (UNHCR) in Ibarra, Ecuador as the community protection intern, and assist with creating and disseminating communications products with local communities. Sara is looking forward to supporting the UNHCR in its mission to improve conditions for displaced people, specifically in the context of Latin America

Victoria Aponte, U2, Honours Political Science

Victoria Aponte is a third-year student pursing a degree in Honors Political Science with a double-minor in Social Entrepreneurship and History. This summer, she will intern remotely with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Guatemala. In the next couple of months, Victoria will be working alongside the Livelihoods and Economic Inclusion Officer. Some of her tasks will include conducting research, gathering, and analyzing socioeconomic information, and providing support in the day-to-day operations, among other activities. She is eager to start working and provide support for refugees.

Saisha Vasudeva, U1, Joint Honours Economics and Political Science

Saisha is a second-year student at 苹果淫院 studying Economics and Political Science. This summer, she will be interning with UNHCR Guatemala as a Livelihoods and Economic Inclusion Intern. With key interests in labour, migration, and refugee crises, she is looking forward to conducting research on market-oriented livelihood interventions and poverty alleviation programs while gaining a deeper understanding on the economic protection of asylum seekers and forcibly displaced persons in Guatemala.

Emily Jones, U3, Honours Political Science

Emily Jones is a fourth-year student pursuing an Honours BA in Political Science with minors in African Studies and Environmental Studies. She will be interning with the Center for Democratic Development (CDD) Ghana, a research and advocacy think-tank with a mission to promote democratic principles and practices in Ghana and beyond. Emily is passionate about bridging the gap between research and community outreach and is looking forward to helping CDD-Ghana achieve their goals.

Alice Wu, U3, English

Alice is a U3 English Literature student with minors in French and Management. She will work as a community news intern at CKUT 90.3 FM, a 苹果淫院/Montreal campus-community radio station. She will build a portfolio of news features, research and write a daily package of news headlines, and edit scripts for CKUT鈥檚 diverse line-up of shows. Alice is ecstatic to hone her writerly craft, while gaining new skills in interviewing and audio editing. She is interested in a future career in journalism.

Juliette Nicola每, U3, Economics

鈥婮uliette is a third-year student pursuing a major in Economics and two minors in Management and World Cinema. This summer, she will be interning in Ottawa at The Delegation of the European Union to Canada. She will work in the Trade and Economics department. Juliette is very excited to know more about the EU-Canada economic relationship and to work on promoting CETA, a unique trade agreement between the EU and Canada.

Lian Beckstead, U2, Honours in International Development Studies

Lian Beckstead is in her second year pursuing a major in Honors International Development Studies. She will be interning this summer at the Centre for Human Rights and Environment, a non-profit organization based originally in Argentina and relocated to the United States in 2015. CHRE works to protect and defend communities affected by environmental degradation and promote more sustainable public policy dedicated to human rights and environmental protection. She will be assisting in research on diverse sets of actions regarding the evolving climate emergency. The results will be utilized for an upcoming publication called, 鈥淭he Race to Save Everything鈥�. She will also assist with the development of a publication proposal to be presented to Oxford University Press. She looks forward to this opportunity to apply her policy-making knowledge from her studies to support environmental sustainability.

Margaux Deroi, U2, International Development Studies

Margaux Deroi is a U2 student in International Development, minoring in Gender, Sexuality, Feminist, and Social Justice Studies. She is strongly interested in the understanding of structural inequalities, with a particular emphasis on gender dynamics. These interests led her听to apply to a research internship at the Institute of Human Development and Well-Being (IHDW) at 苹果淫院. She is also engaged in her community through different volunteer initiatives as she truly believes that grassroots implications are the basis of social change. She hopes to continue her studies by doing a master鈥檚 degree abroad in medical anthropology.

Chloe Bielinski-Regan, U2, Social Work

Chloe Bielinski-Regan is a second-year Social Work student. This summer, she will be interning at the Native Friendship Center of Montreal (NFCM). The NFCM provides services to Indigenous people who live in Montreal. They provide Indigenous people with services and referrals through culturally appropriate facilities. Her role will be to help grow their food and wellness programs. She will also support the organization by doing tasks that are needed. As a future social worker, Chloe thinks that it is essential that she develops the knowledge and cultural safety skills to serve the Indigenous population better.

Lia Holla, U3, Political Science and Physics

Lia Holla is double majoring in Political Science and Physics. She is thrilled to be working in Vienna, Austria during the First Meeting of State Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons at the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs. She is ecstatic about using art and storytelling to learn and educate on peace and disarmament at the Vienna Peace Museum.

Alice Huaut, U1, International Development Studies

Alice is pursuing a major in International Development Studies and will intern this summer in Montreal with the non-profit organization 脡duconnexion. The organization equips individuals and organizations to improve their social and ecological impact. Alice is excited to intern in an environment which helps increase social justice awareness. She will assist the staff in the research and the development of new educational tools and help improve the organization鈥檚 services to support groups in marginalized situations.

Elena Landaverde, U1, Environment and Economics

Elena is a U1 student majoring in Environment and Economics. She will be interning remotely at Climate Reality Project Canada, an environmental NGO dedicated to empowering citizens and catalysing a global solution for the climate crisis. Elena will be contributing to the National Climate League, a yearly report highlighting sustainable actions in various Canadian municipalities. As an intern, Elena hopes to refine her research and data compiling skills, as well as learning more about citizens鈥� role in climate change action.

Emily-Rose Njonde, U2, Sociology

Emily-Rose will be interning at 脡quitas 鈥� International Center for Human Rights, Montr茅al鈥檚 oldest human rights education organization. As an education intern for their annual Global Rights Connection program, Emily is excited to participate in the development of educational materials for human rights leaders across the globe. Through this internship, she also hopes to deepen her knowledge of sustainable development and social change as well as learn the efficacity of diverse human rights-based approaches on current crises.

Albane Marion, U2, Political Science and International Development Studies

Albane is pursuing a double major degree in Political Science and International Development Studies, and she will be interning remotely at the International Center for Dalit Rights, an NGO that seeks to fight injustice, empower the community, expose and confront discrimination and combats hate by protecting the rights of individuals. In particular, it advocates to fight for the rights of minorities like caste Indians, who experienced discrimination at a disproportionate level in the United States and abroad. Albane hopes, through her internship, to deepen her complexities of how NGOs internally work, learn project management and cooperation skills, and tangibly contribute to the fight against racial discrimination.

Isabelle Bujold, U2, Joint Honours Anthropology and International Development Studies

Isabelle Bujold will be completing a remote internship this summer with Nets for Net Zero. Nets for Net Zero is a Montreal-based non-profit that facilitates a circular economy through the recycling and repurposing of ghost fishing gear. Their main goal is to foster connections that allow the oceans to regenerate, implement innovative technologies and build communities that promote a net zero future. Isabelle will serve as the Communications intern and assist the Director of Marketing and Communications.
