Raphael Goldman-Pham, U1, Joint Honours History and Philosophy
Raphael will be interning with AID India located in Chennai in the southern Indian province of Tamil Nadu. AID India, which runs programs in more than 18,000 rural villages, is devoted to breaking the generational cycle of poverty by improving access to education for young children. Raphael, who has also studied computer programing, plans to be involved with this organization鈥檚 efforts to use technology to provide education to the most remote villages.

Naoki Miura, U3,听Political Science
This summer, Naoki will intern at the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs of the U.S. Department of State in Washington D.C. The Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs is charged with advising the Secretary of State on matters of the Asian-Pacific Region.

Simon Newman-Bachand, M1, Economics
Simon听will be interning with ELIMU in Kianyaga, Kenya. ELIMU is a research NGO that measures the practical impact of different poverty alleviation initiatives. Their methodology is centred on the concept of randomized experiments. The field work he is going to carry out in Kenya will help policy-makers and academics design policies that have a concrete effect on reducing poverty.

Mariam Grigoryan, U2, Economics and International Development Studies
Mariam will be interning in Hong Kong with Nexchange, an innovation-as-a-service hub for new technologies. She is studying Economics and IDS with a minor concentration in Social Entrepreneurship. Having lived in countries with various development trajectories, she has always been interested in Economic Development and its relationship to innovative technologies. Through this internship, she is hoping to learn more about the ways Fintech and Healthtech can be used to solve issues of global importance.

惭颈肠丑别濒濒别听will be a public information intern at the United Nations Environment Programme/Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in Bonn, Germany. Given her passion for environmental protection and belief in cooperative social progress, she is excited to promote the UNEP鈥檚 work to individuals around the world. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in communications on behalf of a non-profit organization.

Noah Kaplan, U3,听Liberal Arts
Returning from his exchange at Sciences Po Paris, Noah听will be interning at the Laboratory of Urban Culture in Montreal. With this internship, Noah aims to gain a broader understanding of the relationships among art, culture, and community, as well as experience the confluence of education and engagement in the heart of Little Burgundy.

Kyra Kwak,听U3, Art History
碍测谤补听will intern as the Curatorial and Research Coordinator for Atelier C茅ladon, a community-based organization that supports underrepresented artists in mainstream media, and centers marginalized narratives in Tiohti脿:ke (Montr茅al). She hopes to use her experience in graphic design and non-profit work to assist the creative community and give back to the city in a productive yet mindful fashion.

Mariam Salaymeh, U3, Anthropology
Mariam will be interning at Montreal's Suoni Per il Popolo Music Festival, presented by the Soci茅t茅 des Arts Libres et Actuels (SALA). With a background in radio, audio and film she has shaped an immense interest in media and entertainment which she hopes to apply during her internship, along with a more technical acquisition of the intricacies of live musical performance. She is eternally grateful to participate further in this inclusive environment and expand her knowledge of the city's artistic community, as well the international one it welcomes.

Zachary Jericho Couture, U2, Joint Honours Political Science and World Islamic & Middle East Studies
Zachary Jericho Couture has just completed his U0 year, and is pursuing a joint honours in World Islamic and Middle East Studies and Political Science with a minor in Theatre Studies. He is interning with Teesri Duniya Theatre, a Montreal based political and multicultural theatre organization which initially formed to give South-Asian-Canadians a voice. Zach will be researching the history of theatrical arts in Canada, and is particularly interested in how theatre can be used to talk about power and challenge oppression, as well as foster culture, identity and empowerment. He hopes to use this opportunity to learn more and write about the interstices and intersections between art, culture and politics.

Eyitayo Kunle-Oladosu, U1, International Development Studies and History
Eyitayo will be interning with The Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED), a non-governmental organization awarded by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) for model of best practice in taking innovation to scale in Sub-Saharan Africa. As a Development and Communications Intern, Eyitayo looks forward to developing media content and fundraising strategies to fulfill CAMFED鈥檚 mandate of addressing issues such as maternal mortality and climate change through the education and empowerment of young women.听

Felipe Aas, U1, Political Science
Felipe will be interning at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace at their headquarters in Washington D.C. A global foreign-policy think tank committed to the promotion of cooperation between nations, Carnegie advances peace through the development of policy ideas and direct engagement with various state actors. Felipe is therefore looking forward to applying the skills that he has developed while studying Political Science and Geography at 苹果淫院.

Somaya Amiri, U3,听Political Science
She is currently in France for a year of professional development. She is passionate about creating a fairer and more equal Canada by contributing to policymaking herself. At 苹果淫院, Somaya is the Founder of Canadian Student Society, former program coordinator of World University Services of Canada, and director of Comparative Healthcare Systems Program.

Laurence Dagenais-Poulin, U3, Honours Liberal Arts
Laurence is a third year student majoring in liberal arts and pursuing a double minor in political science and German. She will be interning as a research assistant with the Centre for Excellence in Women and Child Health (COEWCH) at the Aga Khan Medical University in Nairobi, Kenya. This internship will be an opportunity to study gender dynamics in sub-Saharan Africa and further her interests in East Africa and gender relations.

Victoria Flaherty,听U2, Political Science
This summer, she will be interning with the U.S. consulate general in Calgary, AB as the political and economic affairs intern. The United States and Canada share one one of the world鈥檚 most unique and intertwined bilateral relationships, with a generally low-security border and a high degree of trade. She cannot wait to learn more about how this relationship functions and communicates in relation to the political and economic sphere.

Shira Garbis, U1, Political Science and听International Development Studies
Shira will be interning in the office of a Representative of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She will be working in constituent services to help the district鈥檚 members make their voices heard and become politically engaged at the state level. She is passionate about social justice, equality and civic engagement.

Lucie Goulard, U3, Political Science
Lucie Goulard will intern at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies where she will be collecting data on the hierarchy of languages between Georgian, Russian and English in Georgian political settings. Lucie is focusing on post-Soviet studies as she has been learning Russian for six years and went on exchange at the Moscow States Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). Lucie has participated in several Model Untied Nations and has covered different Montreal events for Mural Magazine.

Madeline Greenwood, U3,听Sustainability, Science &听Society
She is particularly interested in sustainable food systems and indigenous food sovereignty. This summer, she will be interning with SymBioSyn, a non-profit dedicated to sustainable self-determination and collaborative action-research. She will work to facilitate community gardens and workshops surrounding food sovereignty leadership and sustainable self-determination.

Gabriel Helfant, U2, Political Science and History
Gabriel will be an intern in Toronto, Ontario with the Office of Marco Mendicino- Member of Parliament in Eglinton-Lawrence and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minster of Infrastructure and Communities. Within the MP鈥檚 Office, Gabriel will primarily be researching, writing, and attending meetings with stakeholders and community organisations. Gabriel hopes to use this experience in his research of Canadian political representation.

Samuel Jett茅, U1, Political Science
Samuel will be interning with Mouvement D茅mocratie Nouvelle (MDN), a non-partisan NGO based on Montreal, which promotes electoral reform in Quebec. His involvement comes at a crucial moment because the government of Quebec has promised to table an electoral reform bill by October 1^st, 2019. He will be applying what he has learned at 苹果淫院 to an organization that seeks to inform Quebecers about their political environment.

Ariana Kaye, U3, Art History
Ariana is excited to be interning this summer at the Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington DC as a Gallery Guide. Ariana will be leading tours of the museum and creating excitement among visitors about contemporary art as well as conducting research about works in the museum鈥檚 collection.

Thomas Kennedy, U3,听Political Science
Thomas is interning as a research assistant at the Institute of International Relations, a pro-European think-tank trying to rethink Europe and its policies at the center of the continent. This is of vital interest to him, as he wants to one day work for a public institution with the same goals.

Caitlin Kindig, U3, Cultural Studies
Caitlin听will be a Reporting Intern at CityNews Montreal, a leading media and communications company dedicated to providing news to Montreal and the greater Montreal area. She will be writing scripts for the morning shows, researching pitch ideas, and going out on assignment with CityNews reporters. At 苹果淫院, she is the Editor-in-Chief of The 苹果淫院 Tribune.

Isabel Sachi Kojima, U2, Honors听International Development Studies
Sachi will be interning with the Gender Section of UNICEF LACRO in Panama City. Sachi hopes to pursue a career in economic policy to address the root causes of poverty and social injustices. Social injustice based on gender impacts every development sector, so Sachi aims to learn more about gender analysis, policy making, and programming while at UNICEF.

Greta Kubiliute, U3, Honours Political Science
This summer she will be interning with the Political Affairs and Security Committee at the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union in Brussels. This internship will be a valuable opportunity to learn in-depth about Lithuania鈥檚 diplomatic relations and work with the diplomatic mission to advance Lithuania鈥檚 interests abroad.

Bea Lehmann, U3, Honours International Development Studies
She will be interning with the Community University Research Exchange, an initiative connecting student researchers to community activist organizations. Bea will be doing archival work with Women of Diverse Origins, a grassroots organization dedicated to women鈥檚 empowerment. Bea is excited to work with and learn from the groups that make up WDO and collaborate on their efforts to archive past events.

Mary Lynne Loftus, U2, Honours Political Science
She is interning at the Minister of Justice, David Lametti鈥檚 constituency office in LaSalle鈥斆塵ard鈥擵erdun. Mary Lynne is passionate about civic engagement and will apply her knowledge from Canadian politics classes to her summer internship. She is eager to gain firsthand insight into the inner workings of a constituency office and facilitate community engagement and outreach.

Amina Magnin, U2, Political Science &听International Development Studies
Amina will be interning at Echo100Plus, a non-profit organization in Leros, Greece that was established in response to the growing refugee crisis in Greece. Working with the other volunteers and interns, Amina will be helping the organization in their work to provide aid to arriving refugees as well as self-development activities in the form of education, sport, and art programs.

David Naftulin, U3,听Honours Political Science and History
David will be interning at the Israel Law Center (Shurat HaDin), a civil rights law firm that sues terror organizations and uses civil litigation to ensure financial compensation for Jewish victims of terrorism and antisemitism. He is excited to gain experience in a legal advocacy setting, gaining important skills that he hopes to use in a future career as a lawyer.

Teddy Neuman, U2, History
will be interning this summer on the Upper East Side in New York at Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney鈥檚 District Office. He is looking forward to gaining a greater understanding and first-hand experience with the legislative system, as well as constituency issues in the United States. Teddy is grateful for this opportunity as it will enable him the ability to learn more about how the local political process operates in his home county.

She will be interning at Laboratory of Urban Culture, her roles include assisting 鈥淎rt Hive鈥�, organization / promotion, research, and networking events. Oksana previously volunteered at Impact Hub, and hopes to accumulate more knowledge and skills in cross sector collaboration and the ideation and implementation stages of a social enterprise. She hopes to make a lasting social impact in the Little Burgundy community.

Mohammed Odusanya,听U2, Joint Honours Art History and听Gender, Sexuality, Feminist & Social Justice Studies
This summer he will be interning at the Senate of Canada for Senator Kim Pate, under whose supervision he will be researching decarceration options for Black men and women currently held in the penal system. In addition to this, he will be exploring ways to support Black communities advocacy for decarceration and alternatives to jail for their community members.

Momone Ozawa, U2, Sociology
She will be interning at the International Committee of the Red Cross in Tokyo, Japan. The ICRC is an international organization promoting humanitarian aid under international humanitarian law in conflict areas. Momone will be working as a research intern to collect and analyze information on political and economic issues in Asia and the Pacific regions as well as perform administrative tasks.

She will be interning this summer at the United Nations Development Programme Bangkok Regional Hub, a UN specialized agency that seeks to address gender equality, peacebuilding, and conflict-prevention through multiple regional development initiatives. In her academic works, Camille focuses on exploring the relationship between media and cultural studies, including discourse surrounding gender politics and digital feminist activism.

S茅gol猫ne is a third-year student pursuing a double major in political science and anthropology. She will be interning with SymBioSyn in Montreal on a peacebuilding and advocacy project concerning the Anglophone Crisis in Cameroon. S茅gol猫ne鈥檚 motivation stems from SymBioSyn鈥檚 philosophy of using active research to foster sustainable self-determination in communities. Gideon Salutin, U2, International Development Studies
Gideon听will be interning with the UN in their Global Communications department in New York. The department expands UN presence in traditional and new media by working with local and international actors. His responsibilities will be broad, demanding the maximal initiative and creativity, but they allow for autonomy in choosing the areas Gideon hopes to involve himself in. Involvement within the international community is an education in hands-on skills demanded by a new globalized market.

Alexis Scott, U3,听Honours Political Science
Alexis 听will be interning with the Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia, an NGO dedicated to conflict resolution, human rights advancement, and disease prevention around the world. Working with the Syrian Conflict Mapping team, she looks forward to putting her analytical and language skills to use, helping collect and process relevant information on the conflict alongside experts in the field.

He will assist in developing a research study regarding Canadian-foreign policy and Canadian mining companies鈥� interactions in Venezuela.

Lilla Adams, U2, Political Science
This summer, Lilla will be interning for U.S. Senator Ed Markey in his state office in Massachusetts, with the aim of expanding her experience in legislative politics and constituent affairs. Specializing in environmental policy, she is looking forward to connecting local and federal politics in key issue areas affecting both her seaside hometown and places all over the country.

Lindsay Nissinoff, U2, Industrial Relations
Lindsay will be interning at Makovsky Integrated Communciations PR Firm in Manhattan where she will engage in media relations, research, compiling press kit materials and participating in internal account team meetings. She will complete a practical case study in which program development, strategizing, research, and creativity are demonstrated. Lindsay will also complete the PRISM (Public Relations Summer in Manhattan) program which entails weekly networking meetings with multiple New York City firms.

Madeline Murray, U2, Honours Environment
Madeline will be interning with the Monterey Bay Aquarium鈥檚 Seafood Watch program, where she will help develop new tools to help zoos and aquariums evaluate the sustainability of their animal feed. She is thrilled to contribute to the aquarium鈥檚 mission of inspiring conservation of the oceans, and hopes to utilize her experience as an undergraduate researcher to gain valuable experience in the field of sustainability and public outreach.

Maren Roeske, U1, International Development Studies
Maren will be interning at Summer In The City, which engages youth in the development of Detroit. Detroit is a dynamic city and its development is directly related to globalization and historic marginalization. This internship will provide an opportunity to provide services for those in need and appreciate the domestic application of development studies.

Ondine Delonca, U2, Political Science
Ondine will immerse herself in the Centre d鈥櫭﹖ude fran莽ais sur la Chine Contemporaine (CEFC) in Hong Kong. She is deeply interested in Sino-French foreign relations and political science research. Ondine will take part in the diffusion of the review 鈥楶erspectives Chinoises鈥� and she will contribute to the organization of an international conference in Hong Kong about China in the World.听

Sian Lathrop, U2, Philosophy听
Sian will be interning at CKUT in the community news department. CKUT is a non-profit, campus-community radio station based in Montreal. Sian will be producing a podcast focusing on local and marginalized histories in the Port of Montreal, as well as organizing a series of journalism workshops. This will allow her to practically apply the theoretical work she has been doing in media, feminist and critical race theory within the Philosophy and AHCS departments.

Sofie Farkas, U2,听Political Science and听International Development Studies
Sofie will be interning at Festival Acc猫s Asie, a Montreal-based festival which promotes Asian art, history, and culture through several artistic disciplines. She is thrilled to assist with the coordination of the event, as well as the administrative side of the festival. Sofie is ecstatic to be exposed to Asian culture through different shapes and forms of art, while working with the longest Asian heritage festival in Canada.

Ellen is a third-year student majoring in political science and pursuing a double minor in economics and philosophy. She will be interning with the Canadian Federation of Friends of Museums (CFFM), an organization that offers workshops for museum volunteers and supports inter-museum activities. Her role will primarily concern the CFFM鈥檚 communications. Through participating in the World Federation of Friends of Museum Summit in Montreal, she hopes to promote awareness of Canadian museums and heritage sites.

Zoe Shing, U1, Political Science
Zoe is a first year student pursuing a major in Political Science and minoring in Philosophy. She will be interning in Hong Kong at NexChange, a company that creates, markets and invests in innovative technology and products. Zoe is very interested in starting her own business one day and hopes to take this opportunity to learn more about marketing, as well as how a business operates in the real world.

Meriem Mezdour, M1, Political Science
Meriem听will intern at the Center for Democratic Development (CDD) in Accra (Ghana), a non-profit research-based policy-oriented organization which promotes democracy and good governance. Meriem鈥檚 main responsibilities at the CDD will be to develop project proposals and write research reports encompassing several thematics such as the promotion of human rights and the governance of environmental resources. Meriem is looking forward to being part of this dynamic think-tank and contributing to their research with her previous field work experience.

William听will be interning in the Trade and Economic Section of the Delegation of the European Union to Canada, in Ottawa. There, William will work on strengthening the economic relationship between Canada and the European Union. He is very excited to experience working in a government setting.

Elsasoa Jousse,听 Honours English
Elsasoa听will be interning at the UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Language Center in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this Islamic university, she will prepare English teaching programs for students and staff, and edit some papers for journal publication. Elsasoa鈥檚 interest in teaching English, editing, and languages led her to choose this internship that she hopes will push her to pursue a related career path.

Abdel Dicko, U3, Joint Honours Political Science and听African Studies
Abdel听will be interning with the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice in Accra, Ghana. CHRAJ is a constitutional commission with a mandate to protect human rights, enforce good governance, and prevent corruption. Abdel hopes to make the most out of this experience in his pursuit of a career in international human rights law and diplomacy.

This summer, Iris听will be interning at the Indigenous Livelihoods Enhancement Partners (ILEPA) in Narok, Kenya. Having learned about the challenges faced by pastoralist communities in Maji Moto while on the Africa Field Study Semester, she is excited to go back to this region and work with a community-based NGO who fights for land rights, fair governance, and sustainable development.

Madeleine Wissoker, U3, Environment
Madeleine Wissoker is a third year student pursuing a major in Environment with a concentration in ecological determinants of health and a minor in international development studies. This summer, she will be interning at ELIMU Impact Evaluation Centre in Kianyaga, Kenya that evaluates development projects in order to identify the most effective ways to reduce poverty. Through this internship, Maddie is excited to gain field experience and further her interest in economic development.

Minhazur Rahman, U2, Economics
Minhazur, majoring in Economics and minoring in Mathematics will be interning at Aid, a non-profit organization. He will be working with Aid鈥檚 Eureka Children foundation to develop and promote a more sustainable quality of education in Tamil Nadu, India. He will be developing educational content and doing data analysis to monitor improvements. His years of experience with teaching and handling education system in Bangladesh provides him with interpersonal skills for this internship.

Sebastien Oudin-Filipecki, U1, Political Science
This summer, Sebastien听will be interning with the Montreal branch office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the UN agency mandated to coordinate international action to protect and assist refugees and find durable solutions to their plight.Having a keen interest in human rights advocacy, peacebuilding and conflict resolution, Sebastien looks forward to gaining field experience and actively contributing to the UNHCR鈥檚 ongoing projects. As a prospective law school student, his ambition is to study international human right law and pursue a career at the United Nations or in the Non-governmental sector.

Raoul will be interning with the Strategic Litigation Unit of Amnesty International in London. Strategic litigation is the pursuit of legal cases to promote human rights, raising awareness, and bringing about broad changes in legislation, policy, and practice. Raoul hopes to take this opportunity to develop his knowledge and understanding of issues at the intersection of human rights law, public policy, and community-based advocacy.

Khando Langri,听U3, Anthropology and听Political Science
This summer, Khando will intern at the non-profit organization Machik, a non-profit organization located in Washington DC whose goal is to incubate social innovation for Tibet by developing opportunities for education and capacity building on a grassroots level. Their mission is to address challenges faced by Tibetan communities in Tibet through creative and sustainable initiatives which uplift local communities.

Victoria Ondrusek-Roy, U3, Geography
Victoria is a Geography major and Environment minor who will spend her summer interning with the South Rift Association of Landowners (SORALO), a community-based organization that was established to support and preserve the pastoralist communities and ecosystem in Kenya鈥檚 South Rift. Victoria hopes that she will get the opportunity to do meaningful research that will play a part in promoting the coexistence of people and wildlife, and is excited to work in such a dynamic environment.

She will be interning this summer with Robin B. Clark Inc.,听a听natural resource consulting firm in Vancouver B.C. Her duties will consist of conducting natural resource projects from planning stages, budgeting, communication with clients, working with community members, collecting data, producing maps and preparing lab reports. Alisha is thrilled to use G.I.S to positively contribute to such sustainability efforts.

He keeps busy, juggling part-time work as a busboy and an executive member of the Quebec Studies Student Association. He鈥檚 people-oriented, which is reflected in his friendships and academic interests. He strives to be an informed/participative citizen locally and internationally. As an intern for the Comit茅 logement Petite-Patrie, he hopes to make Montreal鈥檚 housing sector more equitable, transparent, and accessible to its citizens.

This summer, at the Institute for Human Development and Well-being (IHDW) and through the 苹果淫院 Art hive Initiative (MAHI), Darshan will address the roles that leadership and policy-making play for non-status individuals, especially children, who have disabilities, mental health concerns, and belong to traditionally at-risk populations.

Declan Gemmill, U2, Joint Honours Political Science and Philosophy
Declan will be interning in Montreal with Equitas, which is an organization involved in the human rights education movement. His main responsibilities include refining the Play it Fair! program and maintaining an active online blog presence. He looks forward to contributing his energy and passion towards these important initiatives.

Dominique Robichaud, M1,Information Services
She will be working with an Indigenous community, the Waban-Aki Nation, to help create a 鈥渢ribal archives鈥�, dedicated in preserving and advancing the language, history and culture of indigenous peoples. During this internship, Dominique hopes she will be able to apply Knowledge Management practices as means to capture tacit knowledge and transforming it into explicit knowledge for reuse.

Emily Draicchio, U2, Joint Honours Anthropology and听Art History
She will be interning in India this summer with The Maski Archaeological Project (MAP), a multi-disciplinary research project investigating several topics regarding Neolithic through Medieval period (3000 BCE 鈥� 1600 CE) societies in Southern India. With an academic background and strong interest in South Asian archaeology, Emily is excited to apply her knowledge outside of the classroom and to gain fieldwork skills through the curation and excavation of artifacts.

Emily Sheeran, English (Drama and Theatre)
Emily is interested in the social impacts of storytelling. This summer, she hopes to gain managerial skills in a creative enterprise through her internship with Montreal-based Nyx Labs, where she will serve as a pre-production administrator, story consultant, and assistant director on their independent production of American Dreamers, filming at locations in the U.K., Canada and the U.S.

She will be interning at Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) this summer, a non-profit dedicated to protecting freedom of the press and ending the repression of journalists internationally. With this, she hopes to learn more about being involved in advocacy work, particularly interested in freedom of the press in the post-Soviet space, while developing essential research and analytical skills. She is also听design editor at the 苹果淫院 Tribune.

脡valie Vall茅e, U1, Political Science and听Canadian Studies
She will be interning at Qu茅bec Cin茅ma, a non-profit organization that promotes Quebec movies, artists and culture across Canada. During her internship, she will work with the organization to promote Quebec鈥檚 production with educational workshops on movies and she will help to prepare the annual Gala Qu茅bec Cin茅ma awards ceremony. 脡valie hopes to gain a better understanding of the importance of Quebec鈥檚 production in Quebec society.

This summer she will be interning with the Black Watch Museum and Archives鈥擟anada鈥檚 oldest Highland Regiment which over the years has accumulated what is considered the best Regimental archives in Canada. Gracie is looking forward to this opportunity to develop her research skills, work with fascinating archival information and artifacts, and learn all that she can about the history of the Scots in Canada.

Hannah听is interning for the Political and Public Affairs Section of the Delegation of the European Union to Canada in Ottawa. At 苹果淫院, Hannah sits on the 2019-2020 Board of Directors of the International Relations Society at 苹果淫院 (IRSAM) as the Editor-in-Chief of Flux: International Relations Review, a peer-reviewed undergraduate academic journal. A Montreal native, her favourite academic interests are International Political Economy and economic history.

Jade Perraud Le Bouter,U3 International Development Studies
She will be interning as a coordination assistant for the International Human Rights Training Program (IHRTP) hosted by Equitas - a Human Rights education organization, working for the advancement of equality and social justice through transformative education programs. Jade hopes to learn how worldwide Human Rights educators create action-based strategies for better social impact, while acquiring important event coordination skills.

Karolina Roman, U3, Langue et litt茅rature fran莽aise (Traduction)
Karolina听will be interning at Shoreline Press over the summer of 2019, a publishing house dedicated to publishing unique quality work of first-time authors. She has a particular interest in literary translation, as well as editing and hopes to learn much more about these fields thanks this opportunity. This internship will also allow her to work on a research project on Anglophone Quebecois literature in her department.

Katia Boudrahem, Political Science and Communication Studies
Katia will be interning in the Communications, Public Affairs and Government Relations department of the Quebec Government Office in New York, a diplomatic mission which seeks to promote Quebec鈥檚 interests in the United States. Vasili's interest in Canadian history led to his internship at the St Andrew's Society of Montreal for the summer of 2019, where he was able to work in the same archives he used for his research. The St Andrew's Society was founded by prominent Scottish-Canadians who had an impact on the political history of Canada. He hopes that his experience will inform his work on Canadian political history.

Zackary Kifell, U3, Joint Honours History and听Political Science
This summer, he will be completing an internship at Equitas; an NGO dedicated to the advancement of equality, social justice and respect for human dignity through transformative education programs. Zackary will be helping coordinate Equitas' 40th intensive International Human Rights Training Program: a three-week program where human rights workers from over 50 countries come to gain knowledge, skills and strategies related to human rights education.

Zuleyma Caparo Escalante, U3, Honours Political Science
Zuleyma will intern at Save the Children Canada as a Gender Equality Support Officer, where she will be conducting research on gender equality issues across a variety of contexts, will provide support in capacity building sessions, and will apply her training to gender equality programming for the advancement of children's rights. Am茅lie is pursuing a double major in art history and international development studies. She will be interning with the H Gallery, a contemporary art organization located in Paris, France. In her role of gallery assistant, she will be mainly involved in public reception, the preparation of exhibitions and fairs, and database management. Johanna will be interning with Social Justice Connection (SJC), an independent organization that provides education and advocacy about human rights, global poverty and inequality. Last summer, Johanna researched gender discrimination at 苹果淫院 and, currently, she works at a local homeless center in Montreal. Johanna hopes to take this opportunity to develop her knowledge of issues at the intersection of poverty, human rights, and global inequity.

Noa is completing a double major in English Literature and Psychology. This summer, she will be an intern at the Regent Park Film Festival in Toronto, which provides high-quality films to the ethnically diverse neighborhood of Regent Park. Noa believes that her experience working with youth volunteers, her operations skills, and her keen interest in the power of art will enable her to succeed in this role.

Lea听will be interning at the Ministry of Social Affairs in Tallinn, Estonia under the supervision of the Commissioner of Gender Equality and Equal Treatment, Liisa Pakosta. She intends to gain a deeper understanding of the ways in which governmental branches approach problems such as the gender wage gap and stereotypes of gender and sexuality in academia.

Natalie feels honored and humbled to work at the intersections where art and activism meet with such an amazing QTBIPOC+ organization as Project 10 this summer. Working with Project 10 and pursuing the Internship Credit Course听GSFS 400 transcended the bounds of academia and activism that previously restricted her; she is ecstatic for another opportunity for community and work experience.

Manoucka will be interning at Watye Ki Gen (We have hope) in Gulu, Uganda. This community-based organization made of women and youth formerly captured by the LRA, seeks to improve the welfare of children born in captivity. Manouchka wants to explore international social work and through this fieldwork opportunity, she hopes to gain in-depth understanding of indigenous knowledge and practices with war-affected populations.

Through her study design and manuscript, V茅ronique will be contributing to the growing literature on consciousness, and will be writing specifically about the limits of conscious and unconscious experiences in the lives of people suffering from depressive and anxious forms of psychopathology.

Peter will听be interning at the Cathance River Education Alliance in Maine over the summer, where he will be assisting with the administration of the non-profit organization, as well as leading educational groups along the Cathance River Preserve. Manuela will be interning at the International Centre of Strategic Studies against Drug Trafficking in Bogota, Colombia. The organization conducts research on the magnitude, patterns, causes and consequences of illicit drug trade. She will be conducting field research on the economics of drug trafficking and the traveling of illicit financial flows. She hopes to learn about past and present strategies that have been used in Colombia to tackle this issue..听听

Hani will be interning with Zochrot, an Israeli NGO based in Tel Aviv, to critically engage with dominant narratives in Israeli society. Tamar Wolofsky, M1, Social Work
Tamar will be interning at Assaf, the Aid Organization for Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Tel Aviv, Israel. Assaf is a grassroots organization working to advocate for the rights of African asylum seekers in Israel, to provide psychosocial support to survivors of trauma, and to assist in refugee resettlement. Tamar is excited to bring her social work skills to work in an international NGO.

Anne-Sophie Thauvette,听U2, Political Science听
Anne-Sophie will be interning at EQUITAS, an International Centre for Human Rights Education. She is passionate about human rights and is always eager to learn more about how to make the world a better place. Anne-Sophie also loves to travel. In 2015, she completed an international cooperation internship in Nicaragua and in 2017 she spent six months backpacking in South America.

Lina Dieudonne, U3, Economics and听International Development Studies
Since her first year at 苹果淫院, she has been passionate about financial inclusion and impact investment and has worked at various social impact organizations while completing her degree, such as ENACTUS and FINCA Canada. This summer, she will be an Impact Analyst Fellow for the impact investing firm Brightmore Capital, and will be based in both Senegal and Ivory Coast.

Ottilia will be interning at the Indigenous Livelihood Enhancement Partners (ILEPA), a Kenyan research NGO. This organization addresses issues of land rights, environmental conservation and livelihood diversification of pastoralist indigenous communities in Kenya. At ILEPA, her role will be to assist in various field research projects, conduct her own research and contribute to administrative tasks. As a Political Science and International Development Studies major, her research interests lie in human rights advocacy, management of natural resources, and good governance.

Maia will be interning at the Centre for the Coevolution of Biology and Culture, a research group within Durham University. The Centre is a think tank for cross-disciplinary research on cultural evolution and gene-culture evolution. Dajou is in her third-year majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Philosophy and Social Entrepreneurship. She will be interning with at the Oltepesi Cultural Institute in Kajiado County, Kenya. Oltepesi Cultural Institute is an organization that works to build a museum on Maasai heritage and encourage communities to share, restore and celebrate their culture. Dajou hopes to take this opportunity to learn more about museums, and the process of cultural preservation.

Jade Cizeau, U2, International Development听Studies and听Economics
This summer, Jade will be interning at Wildlife Works, a United Nations REDD+ program company in Kenya. This organisation has created a market-based solution for environmental destruction, by selling Verified Emission Reduction units on the carbon marketplace and investing the money locally in environmental conservation, education, health care, and job creation. Learning about carbon market-based alternatives for development will serve her future desire to focus on linking sustainable economic answers to global development.

Kaavya Mohan, U1,听International Development Studies
Kaavya will be interning with AID India, in Chennai where she will develop and test content for AID India鈥檚 educational centers. Born in the city with much family still residing there, this internship and goals of the organization holds deep importance to Kaavya both personally and professionally. She hopes to gain insight into the inner workings of an NGO while helping reduce inequality through educational development in Tamil Nadu.

Madelyn Chan, U3, Political Science and Psychology
will be working as a Prospect Development Intern for the United Nations Children's Fund USA this summer in New York City. UNICEF USA works to support UNICEF鈥檚 efforts in support of the world鈥檚 children through advocacy, education and fundraising in the United States. Given her expressed interest in international development, and humanitarian aid, Madelyn is eager to help fulfill UNICEF USA鈥檚 mission to ensure no children die from preventable causes, and every child has a safe and healthy childhood.

Sasha听will be interning with the Indigenous Movement for Peace Advancement and Conflict Transformation (IMPACT), an initiative of the Institutional Canopy of Conservation (I-CAN), located in Nanyuki, Kenya. She is excited to collaborate with indigenous communities in policy advocacy and community development efforts. Sasha hopes to take this opportunity to explore the politics of land reform, as experienced by women.

Alannagh Maciw, U3, Anthropology and听Geography
Alannagh will be working on the Maski Archaeological Research Project in India. She is studying anthropological archaeology and this will be her third season having previously worked on digs in Montreal and Italy. The project aims to explore the complex and changing land-use practices from the Iron Age to the early medieval periods as well as how this shaped social difference. Alannagh will take part in excavation, lab analysis and recording work. Her participation in this internship helps her towards her long term goals of running her own archaeological project and sharing valuable insights on the past.

Ananya Chandra, U1, Economics
Ananya听will be interning with the Small and Medium Enterprise and Agriculture group at ICICI Bank in India to provide financial support to small, local- and family-owned business and farms. Ananya hopes to learn the culture and country specific intricacies of the finances and how the financial sector of India differs from that of Canada or the US.

Jeanne Macneil, U2,听International Development Studies
Jeanne听will be interning with Sapa O鈥機hau Social Enterprise, a non-profit organization that aims to get ethnic minority high school age students back to school, as well as provide employment to ethnic minorities in Sapa. Her main responsibilities will include assisting with Volunteer Coordinator with volunteer management, helping teach students English, creating training materials/curriculum for student training, creating promotional materials for Sapa O鈥機hau, and translating and/or proofreading materials. She hopes to learn more about the impact of education in developing countries and gain an insight into the work of NGOs.

Sophia Winkler, U3, Honours International Development Studies
She will be an intern at the United States Embassy in Muscat, Oman. Interning in the Consular Section, she will practice her Arabic while observing firsthand the diplomatic relationship between the two countries and the U.S. diplomatic presence in the region.

Laurence Leblanc, M1, Political Science
Laurence is in her first year of Master鈥檚 studies at 苹果淫院, pursuing a political science degree with a concentration in international development studies. She will be interning with the Indigenous Movement for Peace Advancement and Conflict Transformation (IMPACT), an organization that works on peace building, governance, land rights, and community development initiatives among Kenya鈥檚 pastoralist communities. She is excited about experiencing an internship at the intersections of conservation, policy work, and human rights advocacy, as well as learning Swahili.

Maria will be interning at the ASEAN foundation in Jakarta, Indonesia. ASEAN foundation is one of the bodies of ASEAN, a regional intergovernmental organization created to accelerate economic growth and social progress. There, she will work to support the community building process within the Southeast Asia region. She is excited to undertake this opportunity because in the future, she hopes to work in an international environment that allows her to carry out the interests of Indonesian society.

Henry will intern at the Young Men鈥檚 Christian Association (YMCA) TeenZone. YMCA is charity organization which is dedicated to the growth of all persons in spirit, mind and body, and in their sense of responsibility to each other and the global community. His main responsibilities include ensuring the security of youth and respect for the code of conduct in the TeenZone and on outings, encouraging youth to empower themselves, acquire social skills and supporting youth and intervene in crisis situations, and making referrals to appropriate community resources as needed.

Jennifer Hassard, U2, Social Work
Jennifer听will intern with Camp Erin Montreal. This community organization offers free summer camp to children grieving. Camp Erin provides a community of support through unique programs and tools to restore hope. Jennifer will assist in camp programming and leadership, volunteer training, community outreach and engaging new partners. Jennifer is studying in Social Work, planning a career in loss and bereavement. She is a mother of 3 children and is passionate about supporting families.

Haya Abu Kishek, M1, Social Work听
Haya听is a fellow of 苹果淫院 ICAN program. She will be interning with the Montreal City Mission youth group.
